He was buried at Graceland East Memorial Park and Mausoleum, Simpsonville, Greenville County, South Carolina.

     Casey Morris Bagwell was born on 17 September 1979 in Greenville County, South Carolina. He was the son of Joseph Morris Bagwell and Rita Robinson. Casey Morris Bagwell died on 17 March 1990 at age 10 of a boating accident on Lake Hartwell. He was buried on 23 March 1990 at Graceland East Memorial Park and Mausoleum, Simpsonville, Greenville County, South Carolina.

Visitation was 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 29, 2005 at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, 7924 N. 59th Av in Glendale, AZ.

Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2005 at Chapel of the Chimes.

Burial with full Military Honors followed at Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6290 W. Northern Ave. in Glendale, AZ.

     Karen Marie Porter was born on 3 December 1949 in Woodruff, Spartanburg County, South Carolina.¹ As of after 1963,her married name was Bagwell. She married David Michael Bagwell, son of John Olean Bagwell and Essie Louise Stokes, after 1963. Karen Marie Porter died on 11 January 2007 in Pauline, Spartanburg County, South Carolina, at age 57


PAULINE, SC - Karen Porter Bagwell, died on January 11, 2007 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born in Woodruff on December 3, 1949 and educated in the Woodruff schools, she was the daughter of the late Waddie and Hallie Mae Richie Porter.

Karens primary focus in life was always her family and people around her. She was a quiet, kind person with a loving, gentle, and giving spirit who found great joy in caring for others and always had a smile on her face. She worked as a personal caregiver in a number of assisted living centers in the area. Karen loved music, especially when played by her husband David, and her personal hobby was enjoyment of all the birds attracted to her many feeders early each morning. A member of Glenn Springs Presbyterian Church, Karens deep abiding faith in her Lord gave her a peace that sustained her, especially during her trial with cancer.

She was survived by her devoted husband of 40 years, David; her loving daughter: Kimberly (Bagwell) Oliver of Pauline, SC; two grandchildren: Brandon Oliver and Emily Oliver, who were the joy of her life; a sister: Mary Lou Knighton of Pauline, SC; three brothers: Joe Porter of Providence, RI; Roger Porter of Seneca, SC; and Don Porter of Hendersonville, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister: Marlene (Porter) Polofsky.

Visitation was in the Glenn Springs Presbyterian Family Life Center on Saturday, January 13, 2007 from 11:00 to 11:45 AM. A celebration of Karens life was held at 12:00 noon in the church sanctuary with The Rev Dr. B. E. Pettit officiating. Interment followed at Philadelphia Baptist Cemetery in Pauline, SC.

David Michael Bagwell, 75, of Pauline, SC, passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020, at Lake Emory Post Acute Care after a long illness.

Born in Spartanburg, SC, on August 17, 1945; son of the late John Olean Stokes and Louise Stokes Bagwell; husband of the late Karen Marie Porter Bagwell.

Educated in Pauline and Roebuck schools; was an easy-going fellow with a colorful personality who never met a stranger; had a quick wit, loved sharing jokes, and could light up a room with his smiles and laughter.

Evident even at an early age, he showed a natural talent for music; when he played, hearts soared, hands clapped and toes tapped. He was accomplished on many different instruments including piano, organ, electric, steel, and string guitars, electronic keyboards, even harmonicas, and music soon became the focus of his life. He easily performed varied music genres both solo and with other musicians. Over time he became known throughout the Piedmont area and nearby states for his unique musical styles. Whenever David signed with a venue in Helen, GA extended periods during Oktoberfest, all his performances would fill to standing room only.

Late in his illness, wherever he was confined, David seized every opportunity to perform for other patients, even when the only instrument available was just an old piano. His greatest desire was to use his talent to entertain others. Music was the passion of David's life and he embraced it with gusto. That is how he will be remembered!

Survived by his loving daughter, Kimberly Oliver; two grandchildren, Brandon and Emily, the apples of his eye; and many dear friends.

Predeceased also by his maternal grandparents, Thomas G. Stokes (1883–1931) and Annie White Stokes (1889–1967).

A private gathering for immediate family and the internment of cremains was held at later date.

Memorials could be made to Greater Spartanburg Ministries Endowment Fund, Spartanburg SC.

     Ollie Irene Bagwell was born on 15 July 1915. She was the daughter of Jesse Alonzo Bagwell and Ollie Pearl Jones. Ollie Irene Bagwell died on 27 March 1916. She was buried at Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery, Pauline, Spartanburg County, South Carolina.

     Opal Faye (?) was born on 11 May 1920. As of after 1946,her married name was Bagwell. She married Homer Lee Bagwell, son of William B. Bagwell and Bessie Ada Nixon, after 1946. Opal Faye (?) died on 3 October 2008 at age 88. She was buried at New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery, Carroll County, Georgia.

     Betty Tanner was born in 1937. As of 2 September 1955,her married name was Bagwell. She married Doctor Gerald Ezra Bagwell, son of Cecil E. Bagwell and Annie Ola Roberts, on 2 September 1955. Betty Tanner died on 9 September 2016. She was buried at Oak Hill Burial Park, Lakeland, Polk County, Florida.

     Greg Bagwell is the son of Doctor Gerald Ezra Bagwell and Betty Tanner.

     Jeffrey Gerald Bagwell is the son of Doctor Gerald Ezra Bagwell and Betty Tanner. Jeffrey Gerald Bagwell married Colette Lee Lyons on 22 December 1978 at Polk County, Florida.

     Phil Bagwell is the son of Doctor Gerald Ezra Bagwell and Betty Tanner.

     Patricia Ann Wright married Jesse Thomas Bagwell, son of Thomas Robert Bagwell and Willie Mae Coker, in 1964 at Rockmart, Georgia.

     John T. Adams was born on 31 March 1859 in DeKalb County, Georgia. He married Dora A. Donaldson before 1878. John T. Adams married Etta Bagwell, daughter of Willis Marion Bagwell and Inda C. (?), on 22 December 1901 at DeKalb County, Georgia. John T. Adams died on 28 March 1945 in DeKalb County, Georgia, at age 85. He was buried at Johns Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Chamblee, DeKalb County, Georgia.

     Dora A. Donaldson was born on 30 December 1862 in Georgia. As of before 1878,her married name was Adams. She married John T. Adams before 1878. Dora A. Donaldson died on 17 July 1900 in DeKalb County, Georgia, at age 37.

     Virginia Bagwell was born on 21 December 1878 in Tipton, Moniteau County, Missouri. She was the daughter of John Thomas Bagwell and Louisa Demsey. As of after 1895,her married name was Albin. Virginia Bagwell married George Edward Albin after 1895. Virginia Bagwell died on 6 October 1912 in Cooper County, Missouri, at age 33. She was buried at New Zion Church Cemetery, Pisgah, Cooper County, Missouri.

     Infant Son Bagwell died on 16 July 1922. He was born on 16 July 1922. He was the son of Arthur Earnest Bagwell and Lillian Mable Heflin. Infant Son Bagwell was buried at Warren Cemetery, Warren, Jackson County, Oklahoma.

     Sally Bush married James Eldon Bagwell, son of John Clark Bagwell and Margaret Mida Borden, before 1962.

     Leslie Dirk Bagwell was also known as Dirk Bagwell. He was born on 20 February 1962 in Enid, Garfield County, Oklahoma. He was the son of James Eldon Bagwell and Sally Bush. Leslie Dirk Bagwell married Kelli Croft on 30 August 1980. Leslie Dirk Bagwell died on 31 December 2017 in Oklahoma at age 55


Leslie Dirk Bagwell passed from this life on December 31, 2017 at home at age 55. Dirk was born on February 20, 1962 in Enid, Oklahoma to James Bagwell and Sally (Bush) Bagwell. His early years were spent traveling as military families do, attending school in Germany, Colorado Springs and the family moved back to Oklahoma where he graduated from Navajo High School. Dirk married the love of his life Kelli Croft and to this union were born daughter Dara’ Brooke and Dirk Kade. Dirk enjoyed golf, softball, baseball, weightlifting and he was an avid music lover. He spent the last ten years farming, enjoying every minute and a member of the Church of Christ in Warren. Dirk especially loved to spend time with his family whom he loved dearly.

Dirk is survived by his wife Kelli of the home, his parents James and Sally Bagwell of Blair, mother-in-law Pat Croft, son Dirk Kade Bagwell and wife Kristen of Blair and daughter Dara’ Brooke Rose and husband Jacob also of Blair, brother Ricky Bagwell of Edmond, Okla., sister Vicki Beasley and husband Don of McKinney, Texas. Dirk leaves a legacy of four very special grandchildren, Caleb and Cadee Rose and Presley and Dixen Bagwell, nephews Seth Beasley and James Bagwell and a host of other relatives and friends. Dirk was preceded in death by his father-in-law Wayne Croft, grandparents Clark and Margarete Bagwell and; Oran and Oleta Bush and great-grandparents Burl and Eva Bush and Henry and Rosie Hinton.

Leslie Dirk Bagwell passed from this life on December 31, 2017 at home at age 55.

Dirk was born on February 20, 1962 in Enid, Oklahoma to James Bagwell and Sally (Bush) Bagwell. His early years were spent traveling as military families do, attending school in Germany, Colorado Springs and the family moved back to Oklahoma where he graduated from Navajo High School.

She was buried at Warren Cemetery, Warren, Jackson County, Oklahoma.
