     Ruby Thelma Lee Stephens was born in 1909. As of 23 December 1925,her married name was Bagwell. She married Leroy "Lee" Bagwell, son of John William Bagwell and Henrietta Victoria Barrow, on 23 December 1925 at Hood County, Texas. Ruby Thelma Lee Stephens died on 3 September 1959 in Lubbock County, Texas, of pulmonary edema due to congestive heart failure. She was buried at Terry County Memorial Cemetery, Brownfield, Terry County, Texas.

     Billy Lee Bagwell was born on 6 June 1928 in Stephenville, Erath County, Texas. He was the son of Leroy "Lee" Bagwell and Ruby Thelma Lee Stephens. Billy Lee Bagwell married Mardivina Powell on 5 February 1959 at Paducah, Texas. Billy Lee Bagwell died on 27 January 2013 in Denver City, Yoakum County, Texas, at age 84

Billy Lee Bagwell, 84, of Plains passed away Sunday, January 27, 2013 in Denver City. He was born June 6, 1928 to Lee Roy and Thelma (Stevens) Bagwell in Stephenville. He graduated from Union High School. He was a farmer for many years and then worked for the Plains School District until retiring. Billy married Mardiva Powell on February 5, 1959 in Paducah. She preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Wayne Bagwell; a sister, Bobbye Powell; 2 grandsons, Corey Kelton and Brett Bagwell. Billy was a member and Deacon at Plains First Baptist Church.

Billy is survived by a daughter, Rhonda Gardner and her husband Dennis of Sundown; 2 sons, Roger Bagwell of Lubbock and Russell Bagwell of Plains; 5 grandchildren, Jason Kelton, Sarah Kelton, Kristin Gardner, AJ Bagwell and Abigail Bagwell.

She married Billy Lee Bagwell, son of Leroy "Lee" Bagwell and Ruby Thelma Lee Stephens, on 5 February 1959 at Paducah, Texas. Mardivina Powell died on 23 February 2010 at age 81

Viewing will be at Brownfield Funeral Home on Sunday, February 28 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday, March 1 at 9a.m. to 1:30 p.m. time at the First Baptist Church in Plains.
Marty Bagwell was born July 12, 1928 in Paducah, Texas to John and Dovie Mae Powell. Marty married Billy Lee Bagwell February 5, 1959 in Paducah. They moved to Plains in 1970 where they became members of the First Baptist Church. Marty Retired from the Plains school district as a custodian in 1993. Those to welcome her home include 8 brothers, a sister, her parents, and two grandsons, and a host of other family and friends.

Marty is survived by her husband, Billy Bagwell; Daughter, Rhonda Gardner and husband, Dennis of Sundown; two sons Roger Bagwell of Lubbock and Russell Bagwell of Lubbock; grandchildren, Jason Kelton of Abilene, Sarah Pormanes of Sundown, Kristin Gardner of Santa Anna, A.J. Bagwell of Plano, Abigail Claire Bagwell of Lubbock; and 4 great-grandsons.

Thomas Wayne Bagwell married Bertie Mae Hogg on 2 October 1954 at Brownfield, Texas. Thomas Wayne Bagwell married Laura Ruth Hall on 23 January 1976 at Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas. LUBBOCK-Graveside services with military honors for Wayne Bagwell, 80, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012, in Resthaven Memorial Park with Jerry Rose officiating. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Resthaven Funeral Home. Wayne passed from this life Friday, May 25, 2012.

Thomas Wayne Bagwell was born Aug. 24, 1931, in Stephenville, Texas, to the late Lee Roy and Thelma Lee (Stephens) Bagwell. He graduated from Meadow High School and served in the United States Navy. Wayne married Bertie Hogg, Oct. 2, 1954, in Brownfield, Texas. She preceded him in death in 1975. He later married Ruth Hall on Jan. 23, 1976, in Lubbock. Wayne farmed in Terry County until 1971; he then moved the family to Lubbock, where he was employed by Fleming Foods. He retired in 2002, but later returned to LaBatt Food Service. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Bobbye Jo Powell, and a daughter, Janice Sue Hillhouse.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his wife, Ruth Hall Bagwell of Lubbock; son, Donald Bagwell and wife Susan of Texarkana, Texas; daughter, Pauline Taylor of Lubbock, Texas; son, Eugene Bagwell and wife Norma of Shallowater, Texas; brother, Billy Bagwell of Denver City, Texas; brothers-in-law, Bob Hall of Lubbock, Coyt Powell of Lubbock, Dick Hall of Phoenix, Ariz., E.L. Hogg and wife Carolyn of Lamesa, Texas, and James Hogg and wife Deena of Albuquerque, N.M; sister-in-law, Betty Ware and husband Bill of Hobbs, N.M; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a very special companion, Buttons; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family. Wayne was deeply loved by family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Bobbye Jo Bagwell Powell, a longtime resident of Lubbock, died on December 18, 2008 at the age of 70. Funeral service for Bobbye will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at Abbey Chapel with Pastor Jim Crittenden officiating. Internment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Family will receive friends and loved ones on Monday, December 22, 2008 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Resthaven.

Bobbye was born on May 2, 1938 in Lamesa to Lee Roy and Thelma Lee (Stephens) Bagwell. At the age of ten, along with her parents, she moved to Brownfield where she graduated from Brownfield High School. Bobbye later met and married Coyt Powell. They celebrated almost 50 years of marriage. Bobbye and Coyt moved to Lubbock in 1968. She worked for Flemming Food for 32 years.

Bobbye leaves to celebrate her life her husband, Coyt; daughter, Thelma Redmon of Lubbock; two grandsons, Darrell and Tom Redmon, both of Lubbock; two brothers, Billy and wife Marty Bagwell of Plains and Wayne and wife Ruth Bagwell of Lubbock.


She was buried at Resthaven Memorial Park, Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas.

     Roger Lee Bagwell is the son of Billy Lee Bagwell and Mardivina Powell. Roger Lee Bagwell married Tina Jo Ivie on 24 April 1984 at Lubbock, Texas. Roger Lee Bagwell and Tina Jo Ivie were divorced on 16 October 1992 at Lubbock, Texas.

     Russell Neil Bagwell is the son of Billy Lee Bagwell and Mardivina Powell.

     Rhonda Lanell Bagwell is the daughter of Billy Lee Bagwell and Mardivina Powell. Rhonda Lanell Bagwell married Dennis Gardner on 6 October 1994 at Hockley County, Texas.

     Dennis Gardner married Rhonda Lanell Bagwell, daughter of Billy Lee Bagwell and Mardivina Powell, on 6 October 1994 at Hockley County, Texas.

     Tina Jo Ivie married Roger Lee Bagwell, son of Billy Lee Bagwell and Mardivina Powell, on 24 April 1984 at Lubbock, Texas. Tina Jo Ivie and Roger Lee Bagwell were divorced on 16 October 1992 at Lubbock, Texas.

     Bertie Mae Hogg was born on 24 September 1935 in Louisiana. As of 2 October 1954,her married name was Bagwell. She married Thomas Wayne Bagwell, son of Leroy "Lee" Bagwell and Ruby Thelma Lee Stephens, on 2 October 1954 at Brownfield, Texas. Bertie Mae Hogg died on 17 June 1975 in Lubbock County, Texas, at age 39. She was buried on 20 June 1975 at Resthaven Memorial Park, Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas.

     Laura Ruth Hall was born on 22 December 1930 in Nolan County, Texas. As of 23 January 1976,her married name was Bagwell. She married Thomas Wayne Bagwell, son of Leroy "Lee" Bagwell and Ruby Thelma Lee Stephens, on 23 January 1976 at Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas. Laura Ruth Hall died on 20 September 2017 at age 86.

     Janice Sue Bagwell was born on 22 February 1956 in Brownfield, Terry County, Texas. She was the daughter of Thomas Wayne Bagwell and Bertie Mae Hogg. As of before 1996,her married name was Hillhouse. Janice Sue Bagwell married (?) Hillhouse before 1996. Janice Sue Bagwell died on 31 March 1997 at age 41. She was buried at Louis B Hazelton Memorial Cemetery, Buckeye, Maricopa County, Arizona.

     Donald Bagwell is the son of Thomas Wayne Bagwell and Bertie Mae Hogg. Donald Bagwell married Susan (?) after 1973.

     Marvin Eugene Bagwell was born on 15 May 1959 in Terry County, Texas. He was the son of Thomas Wayne Bagwell and Bertie Mae Hogg. Marvin Eugene Bagwell married Norma (?) after 1973. Marvin Eugene Bagwell married Jeena W. Trotter on 4 April 1988 at El Paso County, Texas. Marvin Eugene Bagwell and Jeena W. Trotter were divorced on 28 April 1989 at El Paso County, Texas. Marvin Eugene Bagwell married Shelly Diane Lewis on 24 March 1990 at El Paso County, Texas. Marvin Eugene Bagwell married Norma Zuniga on 19 July 2003 at Lamb County, Texas.

     Coyt Lynn Powell was born on 19 February 1939 in Cottle County, Texas. He married Bobbye Jo Bagwell, daughter of Leroy "Lee" Bagwell and Ruby Thelma Lee Stephens, circa 1969. Coyt Lynn Powell died on 4 March 2020 in Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, at age 81

Coyt died on March 4,2020 in his long time home in Lubbock. He was born on February 19, 1939 to Hazel Farmer, and Joe Powell both preceding him in Death.
For 50 years he drove a truck for Waples-Platter, Fleming Foods, and eventually Wal- Mart. Along the way he met and married the love of his life Bobbye Jo, who also precedes him in death. They were married for nearly 50 years.
He leaves behind a daughter, Thelma Hollis, and her husband Ricky; brother Darrell Powell, and his wife Gloria; sisters: Bettye Miles, Joyce Hooker and her husband David; 2 grandchildren: Tom Redmon, and Darrell Redmon; 4 great-grandchildren; and more family than can possibly be mentioned.
