Mr. Bagwell was preceded in death by a son, Arthur Bagwell.

He retired from Capsco Inc. After retirement he worked with Recycling Centers for Anderson County. He enjoyed his Western movies. Claude recently received Christ in his heart.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene Burns Bagwell; his children, Elaine Nix and Rick E. Bagwell; stepdaughters, Lisa Haynie and Karen McClain; a brother, Edwin Bagwell; and a son -in-law, Bill Owens; 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his pride and joy, a Jack Russell, Lady.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Page Bagwell; daughters, Joyce Owens and Susan Hester; and a son, Joel E. Bagwell.
The Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Graceland Cemetery West at 1:00 p.m. with Mr. Rick Smith and Reverend Dr. Steve Silvey officiating.
The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Mr. Bagwell served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and the Pacific Theater.
He retired after 43 years in the trucking industry. He was a member of Groveland Baptist Church in Taylors.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Mitzi Bagwell of Greer; five grandchildren, Angela Hudson, Stevie Bagwell, Michael Harrison and wife Nancy, Shauna Bagwell, and Regina Harrison; three great-grandchildren, Destini Bagwell, Austin Hudson, and Hailey Harrison; and one sister, Doris Jane Goldsmith of Travelers Rest.
Mr. Bagwell was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda G. Harrison; five brothers; and two sisters.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Downtown Chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home. Burial to follow the service in Graceland West Cemetery.1 He was buried at Graceland West Cemetery and Mausoleum, Greenville, Greenville County, South Carolina.1
