     Donny Ray Bagwell was born on 10 October 1956 in Arab Hospital, Cullman County, Alabama. He was the son of J. L. Bagwell and Evelyn Keller. Donny Ray Bagwell married Judy P. Lynn after 1976. Donny Ray Bagwell died on 5 April 2021 at age 64.

     Scotty Bagwell is the son of Donny Ray Bagwell and Judy P. Lynn. Scotty Bagwell married Jessie (?) after 1994.

     Kelly Bagwell is the daughter of Donny Ray Bagwell and Judy P. Lynn. Kelly Bagwell married (?) Rudloff after 1994.

     Mary Evelyn Church was born on 2 May 1922. Mary Evelyn Church was in the US Navy WAVES as a Petty Office Third Class (PO3C) from from 12 February 1944 to 17 September 1945.

The United States Naval Reserve (Women's Reserve), better known as the WAVES (for Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service), was the women's branch of the United States Naval Reserve during World War II. It was established on July 21, 1942 by the U.S. Congress and signed into law by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on July 30. This authorized the U.S. Navy to accept women into the Naval Reserve as commissioned officers and at the enlisted level, effective for the duration of the war plus six months. The purpose of the law was to release officers and men for sea duty and replace them with women in shore establishments. Mildred H. McAfee, on leave as president of Wellesley College, became the first director of the WAVES. She was commissioned a lieutenant commander on August 3, 1942, and later promoted to commander and then to captain. As of 28 April 1945,her married name was Bagwell. She married J.W. Bagwell, son of William Cager Bagwell and Mary Edith "Mamie" Cox, on 28 April 1945 at Rockville, Maryland. Mary Evelyn Church died on 6 March 2003 at age 80


A native of Huntsville, AL., Mrs. Bagwell lived in Albany and Sylvester from 1952-1999 and was a retired Civil Service worker at the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany. She was an active member of the Sherwood Baptist Church where she attended the Vota Vita Sunday School Class. A veteran of World War II, she served her country proudly in the Navy WAVES stationed in Richmond, Virginia.

Mrs. Bagwell was preceded in death by her husband J. W. Bagwell, her father William T. Church, her mother, Bessie Church, brothers Belvard Church, Frank Church, Brooks Church, Walter Church, and Howard Church, and sisters Goldie Mae Sparks, Bessie Ward, and Juanita Weaver. Survivors include a daughter, Mahala A. Church of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, two sons, Robert W. Bagwell of Albany, and R. Thomas Bagwell of Mobile AL: five grandchildren – Michele Meehan, Christopher Meehan, Amanda Patterson, Richard Bagwell, Andrew Bagwell, and her great granddaughter, Brenna Meehan.

Funeral Monday, March 10, 2003 at 11 AM at Kimbrell-Stern. Interment Crown Hill Cemetery Rev. Tony Haefs officiating. Visitation Sunday 3 PM till 5 PM at Kimbrell-Stern.


She was buried at Crown Hill Cemetery, Albany, Doughtery County, Georgia.

     Robert William Bagwell was born on 4 March 1949 in Maryland. He was the son of J.W. Bagwell and Mary Evelyn Church. Robert William Bagwell died on 7 December 2003 in Albany, Dougherty County, Georgia, at age 54. He was buried at Crown Hill Cemetery, Albany, Dougherty County, Georgia.

     Richard Thomas Bagwell was born on 6 July 1953 in Sylvester, Worth County, Georgia. He was the son of J.W. Bagwell and Mary Evelyn Church. Richard Thomas Bagwell married Katherine Jordan circa 1977. Richard Thomas Bagwell lived in 2003 in Mobile, Alabama. He died on 7 October 2023 in Mobile County, Alabama, at age 70.

     Mahala A. Bagwell is the daughter of J.W. Bagwell and Mary Evelyn Church.

     (?) Helton married Eva Virginia Bagwell, daughter of Joseph William Bagwell and Lula Gallups, before 1960.

     Judy P. Lynn was born on 7 August 1958. As of after 1976,her married name was Bagwell. She married Donny Ray Bagwell, son of J. L. Bagwell and Evelyn Keller, after 1976. Judy P. Lynn died on 1 August 2020 at age 61.

     Judy Lynn Martin married William Lewis Bagwell Jr., son of William Lewis Bagwell Sr and Miriam Janice Cooper, on 27 June 1987 at Greenwood, South Carolina.

     Connie (?) married Mark W. Bagwell, son of Howard Fornie Bagwell and Judith Ann Shumaker, after 1980.

     Mark W. Bagwell Jr. is the son of Mark W. Bagwell and Connie (?)

     Marvette (?) married Kevin Howard Bagwell, son of Howard Fornie Bagwell and Judith Ann Shumaker, after 1979.

     Patricia Diane Holbrooks married James Edward Bagwell, son of Edward Davis Bagwell and Mary Kathleen Smith, on 18 March 1990 at Greenville, South Carolina.

     Bonita Ann Myatts married Marion David Bagwell, son of Marion Bayles Bagwell and Gertrude Elizabeth Webb, on 24 August 1967 at Ridge Avenue Baptist Church, West Monroe, Ouachita Parish, Louisiana.

     Chad Everett Bagwell was born on 13 October 1970 in West Monroe, Ouachita Parish, Louisiana. He was the son of Marion David Bagwell and Bonita Ann Myatts. Chad Everett Bagwell died on 3 March 2002 in Simsboro, Lincoln Parish, Louisiana, at age 31. He was buried on 7 March 2002 at Ansley Cemetery, Ansley, Jackson Parish, Louisiana.

     Christopher D. Bagwell is the son of Marion David Bagwell and Bonita Ann Myatts.

     Courtney Suzanne Bagwell was born on 25 March 1981 in Louisiana. She was the daughter of Marion David Bagwell and Bonita Ann Myatts. Courtney Suzanne Bagwell died on 20 October 2024 in Louisiana at age 43


Courtney Suzanne McDaniel was born March 25, 1981 and passed away October 20, 2024 at the age of 43.

Courtney loved hunting and fishing.

Courtney was preceded in death by the father of her children, Marcus Foster; grandparents, Nell and Gerald DeLoach; grandparents, Marion and Gertrude Bagwell; grandfather, Miller Weems.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jasmine McDaniel, Faith Bagwell, Lily Foster; brother, Chris Bagwell; parents, Janice Bagwell and David Bagwell.


She was buried at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Calhoun, Ouachita Parish, Louisiana.

     Raymond Cagle married Patricia A. Bagwell, daughter of Marion Bayles Bagwell and Gertrude Elizabeth Webb, on 26 February 1960 at West Monroe, Louisiana.

     (?) Cummings married Carolyn R Bagwell, daughter of Marion Bayles Bagwell and Gertrude Elizabeth Webb, after 1963.

     Janice (?) married Marion David Bagwell, son of Marion Bayles Bagwell and Gertrude Elizabeth Webb, before 1981.

     Neil Palmquist married Miriam Bagwell, daughter of Marion Bayles Bagwell and Gertrude Elizabeth Webb, after 1963.

     Mable Evelyn Taylor was born on 21 November 1919.¹ As of 19 June 1939,her married name was Bagwell. She married Claude Robert Bagwell, son of James Robert Bagwell and Evie Oneva Knight, on 19 June 1939 at Laurens County, South Carolina. Mable Evelyn Taylor died on 10 January 2003 at age 83.¹ She was buried on 13 January 2003 at Friendship Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Hickory Taven, Laurens County, South Carolina.¹

     Mable Carolina Bagwell was born on 6 September 1940. She was the daughter of Claude Robert Bagwell and Mable Evelyn Taylor. Mable Carolina Bagwell died on 8 December 2018 in Laurens, South Carolina, at age 78. She was buried at Friendship Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Hickory Tavern, Laurens County, South Carolina.

     Woodrow Madden married Ruby Nell Prather on 12 April 1934 at Laurens County, South Carolina.

     James Richard “Jim” McSweeney was born on 4 September 1930. He married Sylvia Bagwell, daughter of Frank Bagwell and Sibbel Evelyn Davenport, after 1963. James Richard “Jim” McSweeney died on 29 January 1994 in Grand Strand General Hospital, Myrtle Beach, Horry County, South Carolina, at age 63


James Richard (Jim) McSweeney. 63, of Route 1, died Jan. 29, 1994, at Grand Strand General Hospital in Myrtle Beach. He retired from the USAF after 20 years of service and retired from T. W. Services. He was a Catholic. Surviving are his wife, Sylvia Bagwell McSweeney of the home; two sons, Tony Lamar Hall and Lance Traynham; six daughters, Cynthia Delena McSweeney Chappelle, Tammy L. Hall, Sandy Chesney, Renee Lothridge, Barbie Traynham and Marcy Patterson; and a brother, Ralph Lawrence McSweeney. Burial at Friendship Presbyterian Church cemetery.
