He retired from Spindale Mills after 39 years of service and also served 11 years in the National Guard. He was of the Baptist faith, loved to fish, play softball with his children and grandchildren and do crafts.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Holtzclaw Bagwell; one son, Keith Bagwell of Forest City; two daughters, Nell Gragg and husband Robert of Forest City, and Sandra Drake and husband Rev. Belton Drake; his grandchildren, Rev. Michael Ruff, Nichole Gragg, Rodney Gragg, Josh Bagwell, Chelsey Cole, Amanda Drake and Clint Drake, and seven great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Mr. Bagwell's Life will be held at the graveside at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Eternal Hills Memorial Park of Spindale with the Rev. Michael Ruff officiating.

In addition to her mother, those left to cherish her memory include her husband of forty-three years, Randy Robert Gragg; children, Michael Ruff (Renee`) of Sandy Mush, Nichole Gragg (Steven Stetler) of Mooresboro and Rodney Gragg of Forest City; brother, Keith Bagwell of Forest City and a sister, Sandra Drake (Belton) of Chesnee. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Austin Ruff, Gavin Ruff, Klohiey Stetler, Audrey Stetler, Zach Stetler and Storm Gragg. Surviving are her daughter, Mary Monson and husband Bubber of Welcome; son Jim Ward of Thomasville; daughter-in-law Pat Ward of Thomasville; son-in-law Fred McClure of Lexington; eight grandchildren, Jamie Thomas, Steven Monson, David McClure, Shonda White, Tonya Laxton, Jason Ward, Patti Ward and Laura Ward; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Carolina House, Hinkle Hospice House and special friend Vivian Broadway for the care they gave to Helen.
