Raymond Franklin Bagwell, died July 10, 2008, after a short illness. Born June 1, 1920, in Coleman, Texas. He proudly served in the Army during World War II. He had a long career as a carpenter and concrete contractor in various cities of New Mexico and Texas. His many businesses included Triple B Construction and Mobile Home Park in McAllen, Texas; Lago Ready-Mix, Bagwell Construction Company and Tropical Sno Shave Ice in Lago Vista and Austin, Texas. He lived in Round Rock, Texas, until his death. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy; sons, Steven and Douglas; daughter, Teresa Pulley and husband, Doug. He was predeceased by daughter, Freda. Survivors include grandchildren, Mark Smith and wife Becky, Stephanie, Katy, Alycia, Jason and Kyle Bagwell; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother and four sisters. A memorial service will be held at High Pointe Baptist Church, Austin, Texas, on Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Austin.

She was the retired office manager of the Family Counseling Center of Savannah. Later worked at Georgia Telco Credit Union. In the 1930s and '40s she was employed by W.T. Grant and was an active member of their "alumni" association. In the late '40s and early '50s, she was active in the Parent Teacher Association of Georgia at 37th Street School and at the county level. She continued to be active in the American Business Women's Association and in the Hostess City Chapter, serving as its president several times. She was named Woman of the Year in 1976 and 1993. She was in the first graduating class of Commercial High School, and was a member of the Bull Street Baptist Church for many years. She was the daughter of Miles Herbert Bagwell Sr and Annie Ruth Reeves Bagwell.1,2 She was buried at Bonaventure Cemetery, Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia.2

LEXINGTON -- Services for James Bradford Bagwell, 80, of Lexington, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 13, 2008, at Lake Murray Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Herb Gladden. Burial will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Bagwell died Tuesday, November 11, 2008. Born in Pooler, GA, he was the son of the late Miles Herbert Bagwell and Annie Ruth Reeves Bagwell. Formerly of Savannah, GA, he had been a local resident here since 1971. He was a member of Lake Murray Baptist Church and had retired from CSX Railroad after 44 years of service as a mechanical foreman. He was former and past Potentate of the Jamil Shrine Temple in 2001, and founder of Jamil Choo-Choo Unit. He was a member of the York and Scottish Rites and Masonic Temple. He was affectionately known as "Pops" to his family and grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Nell Bagwell of Lexington; daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Bobby Stokes of Chapin; sons and daughter-in-law, James and Laura Bagwell of Lexington, and Andy Dabbs of West Columbia; four grandchildren, Audrey Stokes, Alex Stokes, Brandon Bagwell, Thomas Bagwell; and one great-grandchild, Hannah Millen
