     Donald Eugene Bagwell was born on 13 September 1931 in Kokomo, Howard County, Indiana.¹ He was the son of Parker Scott Bagwell and Hazel Dell Layden. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Donald Eugene Bagwell married Betty Jane Sacks on 18 May 1956. Donald Eugene Bagwell died on 16 June 2013 at age 81.¹ He was buried at Sunset Memory Garden, Kokomo, Howard County, Indiana; Donald Eugene "Gene" Bagwell 81, of Kokomo passed away at 3:03am Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Community Howard Regional Hospital. Donald was born September 13, 1931, he was the last of nine siblings of the late Parker Scott and Hazel Dell Bagwell. Gene graduated from Kokomo High School in 1950 and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He married the former Betty Jane Sacks on May 18, 1956. Gene was employed with Indiana Bell Telephone in 1953 as a draftsman, and retired in 1987 as senior project engineer. Betty and Gene also operated Bagwell's Upholstery until 2007. His main hobby was carpentry and remolding his home. He enjoyed all sports, especially playing golf and was a big Indiana and Colts fan. He and Betty attended 53 consecutive Indy 500's. They also loved to travel and RV throughout the Rocky Mountains and other National Parks.
Gene is survived by his wife Betty, son Kenneth Eugene Bagwell of Indianapolis, daughter Jackie Lou Myers and son-in-law Mike Myers, daughter Karen Sue Bagwell of Kokomo and twin grandchildren Cassie and Jessie Myers along with many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Dorthy McLaine, Wanda Gifford, brothers, Lester Bagwell, of New Jersey, John Bagwell, Kenneth Bagwell, Robert Bagwell, Max Bagwell, and Marvin Bagwell.
Visitation will be from 10am – 12pm Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street. Services will be at 12pm Thursday also at the Mortuary with Pastor Dennis Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. There will be full military honors provided by the U.S. Air Force and the Kokomo Military Rites teams.¹

     Betty Jane Sacks was born on 8 July 1931.¹ As of 18 May 1956,her married name was Bagwell. She married Donald Eugene Bagwell, son of Parker Scott Bagwell and Hazel Dell Layden, on 18 May 1956. Betty Jane Sacks died on 7 December 2013 at age 82.¹ She was buried at Sunset Memory Garden, Kokomo, Howard County, Indiana; Betty Jane Bagwell 82, of Kokomo, passed away at 12:33pm Saturday, December 7, 2013 at her daughter's home surrounded by her loving family. She was the last of four siblings for the late Fred and Mary Sacks (Blockson). Betty graduated from Kokomo High School in 1949. She married Donald Eugene "Gene" Bagwell on May 18, 1956. Betty and Gene co-owned Bagwell's Custom Upholstery. She enjoyed watching sports (especially the Colts), listening to music and spending time with her family. Betty and Gene attended 53 consecutive Indy 500's. They loved to travel in their RV throughout the Rocky Mountains and other national parks.
Betty is survived by a daughter Jackie Lou Myers and son-in-law Mike Myers, a son Kenneth Eugene Bagwell of Indianapolis, a daughter Karen Sue Bagwell of Kokomo, and twin grandchildren Michael "Jesse" Myers (Amanda), Cassie Janean Jolly (Branden), along with many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Mary Sacks, her husband Donald Eugene "Gene" Bagwell, a sister Edith Marie Williams, two brothers Richard "Dick" Sacks, and Ronald "Buck" Sacks, also her beloved 22 year old cat Mugsy.
Visitation will be from 11am – 1pm Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street. Services will be at 1:00pm Wednesday also at the Mortuary with Pastor Dennis "Chappy" Chapman officiating, who also Baptized Betty and Gene at HCVVO in June of 2012. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery.¹

     Ethel Hair was born on 12 February 1888.¹ As of after 1900,her married name was Bagwell.¹ She married Eber Coleman Bagwell, son of Josiah W. Bagwell and Melvina Elizabeth Lockman, after 1900.¹ Ethel Hair died on 4 August 1986 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, at age 98.¹ She was buried at Oakwood Cemetery, Spartanburg, Spartanburg County, South Carolina.

     George Shackleford Begg was born on 3 February 1872. He married Nettie Estell Bagwell, daughter of Josiah W. Bagwell and Melvina Elizabeth Lockman, before 1899. George Shackleford Begg died on 15 April 1942 at age 70. He was buried at Oakwood Cemetery, Spartanburg, Spartanburg County, South Carolina.

     Walter DuFay Wright was born on 9 September 1876 in Woodruff, Spartanburg County, South Carolina. He married Nellie Eugenia Bagwell, daughter of Josiah W. Bagwell and Melvina Elizabeth Lockman, circa 1906. Walter DuFay Wright died on 18 September 1956 at age 80. He was buried at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Spartanburg, Spartanburg County, South Carolina.

     Sara Francis Dowling was born on 29 September 1913.¹ As of 25 November 1948,her married name was Bagwell.¹ She married Edgar Wilson Bagwell, son of John Edgar Bagwell and Elizabeth Blanche Wilson, on 25 November 1948 at Ozark, Alabama.¹ Sara Francis Dowling died on 16 December 1991 at age 78.¹ She was buried at Claybank Cemetery, Ozark, Dale County, Alabama.¹

     Margaret McIntosh was born on 25 April 1904.¹ As of 17 September 1938,her married name was Bagwell.¹ She married Josiah Walter Bagwell, son of John Edgar Bagwell and Elizabeth Blanche Wilson, on 17 September 1938.¹ Margaret McIntosh died on 6 June 1984 at age 80.¹ She was buried at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Greenville, Greenville County, South Carolina.¹

Jack Blease Bagwell died on 27 January 1973 at age 59. He was buried on 29 January 1973 at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Greenville, Greenville County, South Carolina.
