Mr. Dunaway was retired from Clinton Mills and was of the Baptist Faith. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran.
Surviving are two daughters, Frankie Richardson of Clinton and Sharon Loretta Peavey of Salem; two sisters, Irene Starnes of Cross Hill and Margaret Saltzman of Enoree; a brother, Gene Dunaway of Lakeland, FL; eight grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sisters and brothers, Nell Ward, Grace Crawford, George Dunaway and Jack Dunaway.

Mary Catherine Fowler Bagwell, 73, of 293 Fleming Mill Road, widow of Jesse Herman Bagwell, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, May 31, 2001. Born in Hart County, Ga, she was a daughter of the late Reece M. and Lillie Mae Dickerson Fowler. Mrs. Bagwell was retired from J.P. Stevens, Watts plant, and was a member of Lucas Avenue Baptist Church and the Lydia Sunday School Class.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Vone Bagwell, of Hickory Tavern; one daughter, Joann Chastain, of the home; one brother, Bob M. Fowler, of Royston, Ga; one sister, Betty F. Hazel, of Laurens; and one grandson, Brandon Bagwell.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm Sunday, June 3, 2001, at Lucas Avenue Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Bob Cato, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at the home, 293 Fleming Mill Road, and will receive friends at Kennedy Mortuary today from 7-8:30pm. Elizabeth "Ms Lib" B. McLendon, age 94 of 67 Edgewood Dr., widow of Cecil B. McLendon, passed away Monday, July 9, 2012 at her home.

She was born in Laurens County and was a daughter of the late John B. and Allie Bishop Bagwell.

Mrs. McLendon was retired from the Lydia Mill Store and was a member of Lydia Baptist Church.

Surviving are her daughter, Cecelia M. Bailey of Clinton, a sister, Mary Frances Thompson of Laurens, grandchildren, Bob and Jill Bailey of Greenwood and Melody and Richard Rybolt of Edisto Island, and great-grandchildren, Sarah and James Bailey of Greenwood and Ereka Nunnally of Edisto Island.

She was predeceased by one sister and two brothers.

Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, July 11th at 11 a.m. at Pinelawn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends, Wednesday at 10 a.m at Gray Funeral Home of Clinton.

Honorable William Irby Moncure

     Honorable William Irby Moncure was born on 23 July 1911 in Nottoway County, Virginia. He married Susan Seay Bagwell, daughter of William Parker Bagwell and Petronilla Bagley, circa 1959. Honorable William Irby Moncure died on 15 June 2008 in Nottoway County, Virginia, at age 96 The Honorable William Irby, 96, of Blackstone, was the son of the late Irby Moncure and Mattie Williams Epes Moncure of Blackstone. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Sue Bagwell Moncure. He is survived by his sons, W. Irby Moncure of Blackstone and Conway B. Moncure of Richmond; his daughter, Susan E. Moncure of Richmond; four grandchildren, Harrison Moncure of Mechanicsville, Susan Moncure Mawyer of Cumberland, Shirley Moncure Wilkins and Beth Moncure Winn, both of Blackstone; and six great-grandchildren. Moncure was known to many as "Judge," "Little Man" and "Billy." Judge Moncure was a lifelong resident of Blackstone, where he practiced law from 1935 to 1974 and served as Mayor of Blackstone from 1945 to 1974. In 1974, he was appointed General District Judge of the 11th Judicial Circuit where he served until his retirement in 1981, serving the counties of Nottoway, Amelia, Powhatan, Dinwiddie and the City of Petersburg. During the Great Depression, he attended The College of William & Mary and the University of Richmond, T. C. Williams School of Law. Feeling the need to begin work quickly, he obtained a special order by the County Judge to sit for the bar exam after completing only two years of law school and passed first attempt in 1934. In 1940, Moncure did land acquisition work for the Army Corps of Engineers in Baltimore including the Camp Pickett military base. He returned to Blackstone three years later to begin his law practice. During his long career, he served as Selective Service officer for Nottoway County during WWII, Red Cross War Fund Chairman, Chairman of the Nottoway County Democratic Party and Attorney for the Town of Blackstone prior to becoming Mayor in 1945. The late Blackstone Police Chief Bruce Farley once remarked that Moncure began his service as Mayor in 1945 and, that despite predictions following the War, the town didn't dry up. He said Moncure pushed for progress and worked to gain industry for the community. Moncure was proud to have served with the former town managers, the late R. David Maben and the late Ed T. Freed, whom he gave credit for carrying out the programs which made Blackstone the fine town that it is today. Judge Moncure was an avid hunter and fisherman and could often be found relaxing at his farm just west of Blackstone. He was buried at Lakeview Cemetery, Blackstone, Nottoway County, Virginia.

Charles was born on Thursday, December 3, 1936 in Delight, Arkansas to Charlie Fred and Verda Bagwell, who have preceded him in death.

Charles loved Blue Grass music and to take his boys out hunting and Fishing. He was a past President and played for the Arkansas State Fiddlers Association. He worked in the Stainless Steel Business and was a shuttle Bus driver for UCA for 7 years.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Bagwell of 61 years; three sons, Stuart, Don, and Freddy (Peggy) Bagwell; four grandchildren, Steve (Holly) Bagwell, Sunde (Ross) Weaver, Leslie (Brad) Guthrie, Chrissy Bagwell; two great grandchildren, Gabriel and Lorelai Bagwell.


Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Friday, December 16, at the Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Graveside service will be 10:00 am, Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Marcus Hill Cemetery in Enola, Arkansas.
He was buried at Marcus Hill Cemetery, Enola, Faulkner County, Arkansas.

He was born on March 3, 1953 to John and Faye (Pullin) Bagwell in Beeville, Texas.

He married Cindy Marlene Thiede on December 10, 1976 in Tuleta, Texas. He was a member of Tuleta Baptist Church. Mr. Bagwell retired from the oilfield service and T.D.C.J. He was a Bee County Constable for 8 years, and Pettus & Tuleta VFD for 43 years, serving as assistant chief for more than 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Donna Donnell.
