Surviving are a son and a daughter-in-law, Gary Dan "Danny" and Bessie T. Bagwell of Columbia; two grandchildren, LaDonna Lee Davis of Irmo and Dana Beth Burnett of Lexington; four great-grandchildren, Kaitlin Lee Davis and K. Chandler Davis Jr., both of Irmo, Brandon Elizabeth Cooper and Dana Logan Cooper, both of Lexington.

Mr. Bagwell was employed with Crucible Chemical Company and was a member of Westville Church of God of Prophecy.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Wanda Ann Bagwell Ray of Pickens; a son, Ray E. Bagwell of Greenville; a brother, Charles Marvin Bagwell of Greenville; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 10, 2011 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown with the funeral service following at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, West.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in- law, L. Willard and Nelle Bagwell of Greenville; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. James (Lib) Bagwell of Greenville; a sister, Mrs. Marie H. Porter of Pickens; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three sons, Gilbert Bagwell, James Hagwell, and Alvin Bagwell.

Visitation: Friday, 1 to 2 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel, prior to service.

Service: Friday, 2 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, West.

Lawrence Willard Bagwell, 86, of Greenville, died on Saturday, May 20, 2006, at Greenville Memorial Medical Center.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family, and was a wonderful loving husband, father, grandfather, friend, and a blessing to all who came in contact with him.

Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Noah Lewis and Louise Elizabeth Hayes Bagwell, and the husband of the late Mary Nelle Jones Bagwell, to whom he was married for sixty years. A member of Bethel Baptist Church, he was a former Sunday school teacher.

He retired as an assistant overseer at the Monaghan J.P. Stevens Plant, and was a graduate of Parker High School.

Surviving are three daughters, Becky B. Massey of Mauldin and friend Don Connor, Beth B. Bridges (Steve) of Greer, and Bebe B. Levy (Mike) of Columbia; six grandchildren, Stacy Stokes (Mike), Shelly Massey, Brian Bridges, Brooke Bridges, Nick Levy, and Brittany Levy; and two great-grandchildren, Katie and Reagan Stokes. He was predeceased by three brothers, James Manuel Bagwell, Gilbert Lewis Bagwell, and Alvin William Bagwell.
