Claydean Bagwell, 92, of Livonia, Michigan, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025. She was born on October 30, 1932, in Mayfield, Kentucky, to Charles and Dulah Davidson (Nee McAllister).

Claydean was the beloved wife of the late Charles Bagwell, with whom she shared 62 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they raised three children: Dan, Samuel, and Jennifer Doyle. Her legacy of love continues through her 10 grandchildren—Matthew, Angela, Stephanie, Adam, Courtney, Amanda, Ryan, Brendan, Ashley, and Thomas—and her 4 great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Monica, Joshua, and Madison.

Claydean's life was marked by her many talents and passions. She loved to sing and play the piano, gracing church choirs and weddings with her beautiful voice. A skilled seamstress, she delighted in creating costumes and outfits for her grandchildren. Her cooking brought loved ones together, and her home was a place of warmth and joy.

An accomplished professional, Claydean attended Murray State University for two years. She went on to teach high school math before serving as a secretary to the president in the steel industry for 25 years.

An active member of her church, Claydean was deeply involved in her faith community and treasured her close-knit group of friends, especially their lively card games. It was important to her and Charles to make time to sit with those in the hospital or having surgery. She would also bring a meal. They never wanted a friend to be alone. Her warmth and devotion enriched the lives of all who knew her.

Claydean lived out her vocation as a wife, mother, and grandmother to the fullest. She had a deep love for Jesus and knew Him as her Lord and Savior. She enjoyed reading daily scripture and had a devoted prayer life. She looked forward to attending her grandchildren’s sporting games, competitions, plays and performances, and special events. Claydean could be seen smiling her beautiful smile and cheering them on at every opportunity. She will continue to serve her family by being an example of what it means to be a loving, supportive, and Christian mother and grandmother.

Preceded in death by her two brothers; Clifford (the late Eva) Davidson, the late Marvin (Linda) Davidson and one sister; Mae Dell (the late Wayne) Wyatt. Claydean leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A Memorial Gathering will take place on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 10 a.m. from the First Baptist Church of Canton, located at 44500 Cherry Hill Road (West of Sheldon Road) until time of her Memorial Service at 11 a.m.
