W.R. (John) Bagwell, 88, of Magnolia, AR died Saturday, December 30, 2017 at his residence.

John was born December 7, 1929 in Dubach, LA to the late E.W. and Edna (Day) Bagwell. He was of the Baptist faith and retired after 40 years of service from Alcoa. He loved being with his family and enjoyed working in his yard. John was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter Glenda Sue Bagwell; and sisters Helen Sprayberry, Betty Sanders, and Jackie Pesses. John is survived by his wife of 64 years Novie Bagwell of Magnolia; daughters Linda Hollensworth and husband Jim of El Dorado, Rita Curtis and husband Dwayne of Magnolia; son Jimmy Bagwell and wife Mitzi of Coppell, TX; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; several nephews, nieces, and a host of friends.

Visitation with the family will be Monday, January 1 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 2 at 10:00 a.m. at Lewis Chapel with Bro. Jeff Mock officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chris Hollensworth, James Hollensworth, Cameron Bagwell, Zach Hutcheson, Rusty Curtis, and Dwayne Curtis.

He was a retired farmer and timber contractor, a member of Evergreen Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was a native and long time resident of Lincoln Parish. Lotress Cleveland Bagwell died on 1 September 1986 in Dubach, Lincoln Parish, Louisiana, at age 94. He was buried at Evergreen Cemetery, Union Parish, Louisiana.
