Bagwell died on 3 January 1919 in Glendale, Spartanburg County, South Carolina, at age 49 of influenza.^1,2 He was buried on 4 January 1919 at Cedar Spring Community Cemetery, Spartanburg, Spartanburg County, South Carolina; (Mistake on Death Certificate has burial year as 1918 instead of 1919).^1,2
