BAGWELL, Willy “Dean”, 85, recently of Decatur GA, died Friday, December 4, 2020. He was born in 1935 to the late Robert L. Bagwell and Ivoris M. Bagwell in Fayette County Alabama. A strong provider for his family, he worked as a tile setter for over 50 years and was a member of the Brick Layers Union. He was known for his gentle and kind nature. He loved feeding and taking care of many animals inside and outside of his home. He was from a large family and was “Uncle Dean” to many. He was of Presbyterian faith.

He is survived by Lois Godfrey Bagwell (his wife of 57 years), two children Dean’na Bagwell of Dacula GA and Chris Bagwell of Cumming GA.

Also surviving are his brother Jerry Bagwell (Rita Bagwell) and his sister Shirley Bagwell (Lionel Augustine) along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Born in Ware Shoals, she was a daughter of the late James Shaw "Jim" and Elizabeth Sweatt Bagwell. She was of the Methodist Faith. She was owner and operator of West End Beauty Shop for over 30 years. Surviving are a son, Barry Crocker and wife Stacy of Ninety Six, a daughter, Pam Holt and husband Tom of Atlanta, a sister, Jean Thomas and husband Albert of Ware Shoals, and two grandchildren, Brett and Erika Crocker. She was pre-deceased by a brother Albert Bagwell. Burial in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. BAGWELL James Albert "Jim" Bagwell - An 82 year-old resident of Mobile, died November 6, 2012 in a local hospital. Born May 6, 1930 in Ware Shoals, S.C., he was the son of the late Elizabeth Jean Sweat Bagwell and James Shaw Bagwell. James A. was a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. ( Inscription: Battle of Chosin Reservoir - Hell Fire Valley WIA / Survivor). Seriously wounded while on patrol, he spent almost three years in Army hospitals. He was awarded the Purple Heart and received an Honorable Discharge. His employment included many years with Daniels Construction Company in Greenville, SC, and he retired from Courtaulds North America in Axis, AL. Jim and his wife enjoyed fishing and camping with their longtime dear friends and camping buddies.
Interment in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
