Carol was born July 16, 1952 in Houston County, Alabama to the late Edgar Eugene and Mary Odell Dupree Bagwell. She was a loving and giving lady who cared for her parents, family and grandchildren. Carol enjoyed the outdoors and had a heart for people and loved the Lord. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and for her excellent cooking.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond Earl Braswell; children, Tye and Christina Baughman, Billy Baughman, Steve and Joyce Jordan, Robert and Ashley Braswell, Serena and Daniel Benton; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; sister, Jean and Lennie Pike and two brothers, Tim and Lisa Bagwell and Bobby Bagwell.

Mr. Bagwell was the son of Edna Smith & Bill Bagwell. He was a US Army veteran having served in the South Pacific during WW II. He was involved in several major battles & as a result received many accommodations, including a Philippine Liberation Bronze Star & a WW II Victory Medal. He was a life member of the VFW Post No 9997.

Mr. Bagwell was a member of the Teamsters Union & employed by Jones Trucking in KC for 34 years prior to retiring then moving to Cassville in 1986. He was a member of the Mt Washington #614 AF & AM Masonic Lodge, a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason in the Valley of Kansas Orient, & a past member of the Shrine in KC.
Mr. Bagwell was also an avid fisherman.

He married Marjorie L Bradford on 8 Nov 1947. Additional survivors include siblings Roger Bagwell & Vernell Henderson; b-in-laws: Norris, Jim, & Kenneth Bradford; plus several nieces & nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by son Billy Eugene.1

He was buried at New Salem Cemetery, Seligman, Barry County, Mississippi.1

Shirley Mac Bagwell married Jill Mary Slater after 1945. He was a Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force. Shirley Mac Bagwell died on 11 March 1986 in Texas at age 50.

     Jill Mary Slater was born feb 29 1929 in India. As of after 1945,her married name was Bagwell. She married Shirley Mac Bagwell, son of Joseph Frederick "Fred" Bagwell and Elizabeth Harper, after 1945. Jill Mary Slater died on 26 June 2013 in Texas Jill Mary Bagwell died peacefully on June 26th at the age of 84. Jill was born February 2, 1929 to Matthew Ernest and Kathleen Margaret Slater on their tea plantation near Assam, India. She moved to England as a young child, eventually living with her parents and her elder brother, James, at their hotel, The Annesley, in Norwich, Norfolk. She attended the School of St Mary and St Anne in Abbots Bromley, Staffordshire, and was awarded her Oxford School Certificate in 1946. She joined the Women's Royal Naval Service (W.R.N.S.) in 1947 and served as an Air Mechanic until 1950. Travelling in the United States in 1958, she met and married Mac Bagwell of Van, Texas. For nearly 30 years, she travelled the world with him as an Air Force wife.

For 18 years, until she retired in 2002, Jill served as Administrative Assistant to the Chair of the English Department at Southern Methodist University, a job she loved. She continued to do volunteer work throughout her retirement, notably at the Carrollton Public Library, Davis Elementary School and with her dear friends at Gospel for Asia.

Jill is survived by her two daughters, Kathleen Elizabeth Palter and Karen Lynn Bagwell, both of Dallas, her son-in-law John Palter, and her two grandchildren, Luke and Eliza. In the care of her family, she leaves behind her beloved dogs, Judy and Lady, who loved her dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, a young officer of the Royal Norfolk Regiment, who was killed in action in France in 1940, and her husband CMSgt S.M. 'Mac' Bagwell (USAF retired), who died in 1986.
