She was born on 16 July 1952 in Houston County, Alabama.¹ She was the daughter of Edgar Eugene Bagwell and Mary Odell Dupree.¹ As of after 1970,her married name was Braswell. Carol Diane Bagwell married Raymopnd Earl Braswell after 1970. Carol Diane Bagwell died on 10 March 2021 in Dothan, Houston County, Alabama, at age 68


Carol Diane Braswell, a resident of Dothan, died Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at her residence. She was 68.

Memorial graveside services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Gardens of Memory with Chaplain Kathy Stumbaugh officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 PM until 4 PM on Saturday, March 13, 2021.

Carol was born July 16, 1952 in Houston County, Alabama to the late Edgar Eugene and Mary Odell Dupree Bagwell. She was a loving and giving lady who cared for her parents, family and grandchildren. Carol enjoyed the outdoors and had a heart for people and loved the Lord. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and for her excellent cooking.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond Earl Braswell; children, Tye and Christina Baughman, Billy Baughman, Steve and Joyce Jordan, Robert and Ashley Braswell, Serena and Daniel Benton; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; sister, Jean and Lennie Pike and two brothers, Tim and Lisa Bagwell and Bobby Bagwell.

     William R. Davis was born on 12 July 1832 in Virginia.¹ He married Nancy Jane Bagwell, daughter of Lunsford Bagwell and Rispa Truet, on 15 September 1851 at Wilson County, Tennessee.¹ William R. Davis died on 18 January 1918 in Lebanon, Wilson County, Tennessee, at age 85.¹ He was buried at Bagwell Cemetery, Wilson County, Tennessee.¹

     Willis Farmern Bagwell was also known as Willis F. Bagwell. Willis Farmern Bagwell was also known as Willie Farmer Bagwell.¹ He was born on 30 March 1855 in Tennessee.^2,3,4 He was the son of Grif Perkins Bagwell and Elizabeth Rose.^2,3,4 Willis Farmern Bagwell married Gertrude R. Bland on 22 January 1874 at Sumner, Tennessee. Willis Farmern Bagwell died on 1 January 1926 in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee, at age 70 of Influenza. He was buried at Spring Hill Cemetery, Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee.

     Walter Martin Bagwell was born on 26 November 1889 in Tennessee. He was the son of Willis Farmern Bagwell and Gertrude R. Bland. Walter Martin Bagwell died on 15 December 1913 in Eve's Infirmary, Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee, at age 24 after a railroad accident at Eve's Infirmary in Davidson county, Nashville, TN. He was a switchman for the NC and St.Louis RR.¹ He was buried on 17 December 1913 at Spring Hill Cemetery, Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee.¹

     William Robert Bagwell was also known as Robert Bagwell.¹ He was born on 4 August 1886 in Tennessee.¹ He was the son of Willis Farmern Bagwell and Gertrude R. Bland. William Robert Bagwell died on 1 January 1933 in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee, at age 46 of influenza.¹ He was buried at Spring Hill Cemetery, Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee.¹

     James Farmer Bagwell was born on 25 August 1877 in Sumner, Tennessee.¹ He was the son of Willis Farmern Bagwell and Gertrude R. Bland. James Farmer Bagwell died on 16 May 1910 in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee, at age 32 after a 10 year battle with Pellagra.¹ He was buried at Spring Hill Cemetery, Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee.¹

     Elizabeth Paralee Bagwell was also known as Mary Elizabeth Bagwell. She was born on 22 November 1875 in Sumner County, Tennessee.¹ She was the daughter of Willis Farmern Bagwell and Gertrude R. Bland. As of 29 December 1904,her married name was Unger. Elizabeth Paralee Bagwell married Frank E. Unger on 29 December 1904 at Robertson County, Tennessee. Elizabeth Paralee Bagwell died on 1 January 1961 in St. Thomas Hospital, Davidson County, Tennessee, at age 85.¹ She was buried at Spring Hill Cemetery, Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee.¹

     I. J. Smith was born on 25 September 1852. He married Margrette Elizabeth Bagwell, daughter of James William Bagwell and Jane Palina Ivy, before 1896. I. J. Smith died on 1 November 1933 at age 81.

     Edna Smith was born on 10 March 1899 in Winston County, Mississippi. She was the daughter of I. J. Smith and Margrette Elizabeth Bagwell. As of 1917,her married name was Bagwell. Edna Smith married William A. Bagwell, son of Samuel Whitfield Bagwell and Sallie T. Hollis, in 1917. Edna Smith died on 8 August 1953 in Louisville Hospital, Louisville, Winston County, Mississippi, at age 54. She was buried on 9 August 1953 at Murphy Creek Cemetery, Louisville, Winston County, Mississippi.

     Luther G. Smith was born on 3 December 1896. He was the son of I. J. Smith and Margrette Elizabeth Bagwell. Luther G. Smith died on 12 January 1989 at age 92. He was buried at Murphy Creek Cemetery, Louisville, Winston County, Mississippi.

     Billy Max Bagwell was born on 17 January 1925 in Louisville, Winston County, Mississippi.¹ He was the son of William A. Bagwell and Edna Smith. Billy Max Bagwell married Marjorie L. Bradford on 8 November 1947. Billy Max Bagwell died on 23 September 2011 in Cassville, Barry County, Missouri, at age 86
Mr. Bagwell was the son of Edna Smith & Bill Bagwell. He was a US Army veteran having served in the South Pacific during WW II. He was involved in several major battles & as a result received many accommodations, including a Philippine Liberation Bronze Star & a WW II Victory Medal. He was a life member of the VFW Post No 9997.

Mr. Bagwell was a member of the Teamsters Union & employed by Jones Trucking in KC for 34 years prior to retiring then moving to Cassville in 1986. He was a member of the Mt Washington #614 AF & AM Masonic Lodge, a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason in the Valley of Kansas Orient, & a past member of the Shrine in KC.
Mr. Bagwell was also an avid fisherman.

He married Marjorie L Bradford on 8 Nov 1947. Additional survivors include siblings Roger Bagwell & Vernell Henderson; b-in-laws: Norris, Jim, & Kenneth Bradford; plus several nieces & nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by son Billy Eugene.¹
He was buried at New Salem Cemetery, Seligman, Barry County, Mississippi.¹

     Maureen Bagwell was born on 17 October 1922.¹ She was the daughter of William A. Bagwell and Edna Smith. As of before 1951,her married name was Stevenson. Maureen Bagwell married Wilbur Madison Stevenson before 1951. Maureen Bagwell died on 10 June 2009 in Vicksburg, Warren County, Mississippi, at age 86.¹ She was buried at Harmony Cemetery, Vernon, Winston County, Mississippi.¹

     Wilbur Madison Stevenson was born on 21 October 1921. He married Maureen Bagwell, daughter of William A. Bagwell and Edna Smith, before 1951. Wilbur Madison Stevenson died on 10 July 1988 at age 66.

     Roger S. "Tiny" Bagwell was born on 30 June 1933.¹ He was the son of William A. Bagwell and Edna Smith. Roger S. "Tiny" Bagwell married Shirley L. (?) after 1950. Roger S. "Tiny" Bagwell died on 12 May 2012 at age 78
Mr. Roger S. "Tiny" Bagwell, 78, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 12, 2012.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, May 14 at Lakewood Funeral Home, Clinton Blvd., and again after 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 15. The service will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park.

Mr. Bagwell is survived by his wife, Shirley L. Bagwell; daughter Jackie Fairchild (husband Pat), son Darrell Bagwell; 3 grandchildren: Courtney Fairchild, Nathan Bagwell and Haleigh Bagwell; sister Nell Henderson and a great-grand dog Bentley.

Gene Lavaughn Bagwell married Shirley Westerfield on 7 December 1952 at Marion, Indiana. Gene Lavaughn Bagwell married Doris Kay Rench in 1990. Gene Lavaughn Bagwell died on 14 September 2015 at age 83.¹ He was buried at Lakewood Memorial Park, Jackson, Hinds County, Mississippi.¹

     Shirley Westerfield was also known as Shirley Reed. As of 7 December 1952,her married name was Bagwell. She married Gene Lavaughn Bagwell, son of Henry Artemous Bagwell and Betty Bessie O'Guin, on 7 December 1952 at Marion, Indiana.

     David Gene Bagwell was born on 12 November 1953 in Jackson, Hinds County, Mississippi.¹ He was the son of Gene Lavaughn Bagwell and Shirley Westerfield. David Gene Bagwell married Cynthia Barnes circa 1975. David Gene Bagwell died on 4 March 2007 in Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, at age 53.¹ He was buried at Lakewood Memorial Park, Jackson, Hinds County, Mississippi.¹

     Cynthia Barnes was born on 23 November 1954.¹ As of circa 1975,her married name was Bagwell. She married David Gene Bagwell, son of Gene Lavaughn Bagwell and Shirley Westerfield, circa 1975. Cynthia Barnes died on 21 March 1997 at age 42.¹ She was buried at Lakewood Memorial Park, Jackson, Hinds County, Mississippi.¹

     Dan Michael Bagwell is the son of Gene Lavaughn Bagwell and Shirley Westerfield. Dan Michael Bagwell married Susan Elizabeth Cox before 1978.

     Susan Bagwell is the daughter of Gene Lavaughn Bagwell and Shirley Westerfield.

     Shirley Mac Bagwell was born on 1 November 1935 in Van, Van Zandt County, Texas. He was the son of Joseph Frederick "Fred" Bagwell and Elizabeth Harper. Shirley Mac Bagwell married Jill Mary Slater after 1945. He was a Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force. Shirley Mac Bagwell died on 11 March 1986 in Texas at age 50.

     Jill Mary Slater was born feb 29 1929 in India. As of after 1945,her married name was Bagwell. She married Shirley Mac Bagwell, son of Joseph Frederick "Fred" Bagwell and Elizabeth Harper, after 1945. Jill Mary Slater died on 26 June 2013 in Texas Jill Mary Bagwell died peacefully on June 26th at the age of 84. Jill was born February 2, 1929 to Matthew Ernest and Kathleen Margaret Slater on their tea plantation near Assam, India. She moved to England as a young child, eventually living with her parents and her elder brother, James, at their hotel, The Annesley, in Norwich, Norfolk. She attended the School of St Mary and St Anne in Abbots Bromley, Staffordshire, and was awarded her Oxford School Certificate in 1946. She joined the Women's Royal Naval Service (W.R.N.S.) in 1947 and served as an Air Mechanic until 1950. Travelling in the United States in 1958, she met and married Mac Bagwell of Van, Texas. For nearly 30 years, she travelled the world with him as an Air Force wife.

For 18 years, until she retired in 2002, Jill served as Administrative Assistant to the Chair of the English Department at Southern Methodist University, a job she loved. She continued to do volunteer work throughout her retirement, notably at the Carrollton Public Library, Davis Elementary School and with her dear friends at Gospel for Asia.

Jill is survived by her two daughters, Kathleen Elizabeth Palter and Karen Lynn Bagwell, both of Dallas, her son-in-law John Palter, and her two grandchildren, Luke and Eliza. In the care of her family, she leaves behind her beloved dogs, Judy and Lady, who loved her dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, a young officer of the Royal Norfolk Regiment, who was killed in action in France in 1940, and her husband CMSgt S.M. 'Mac' Bagwell (USAF retired), who died in 1986.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service celebrating Jill's life on Friday, July 12 at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 3815 Oak Lawn Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75219.

     Faye Elizabeth Bagwell is the daughter of Joseph Frederick "Fred" Bagwell and Elizabeth Harper. Faye Elizabeth Bagwell married Bill Martin McMillion on 26 September 1953 at Tyler, Texas. Faye Elizabeth Bagwell married Robert W. O'Sullivan on 26 May 1989 at Dallas, Texas.

     James Floyd Bagwell was born on 19 August 1931 in Texas.¹ He was the son of Joseph Frederick "Fred" Bagwell and Elizabeth Harper. He served as a Sargent in the US Army during the Korean War.¹ James Floyd Bagwell died on 12 September 1990 at age 59.¹ He was buried at Union Chapel Cemetery, Garden Valley, Smith County, Texas.¹

     Hixie Maye Crenshaw was born on 6 June 1904. As of before 1940,her married name was Bagwell. She married Joseph Frederick "Fred" Bagwell, son of William Franklin Bagwell and Ada Estella Berry, before 1940. Hixie Maye Crenshaw died on 21 September 2002 at age 98.

     Robert W. O'Sullivan married Faye Elizabeth Bagwell, daughter of Joseph Frederick "Fred" Bagwell and Elizabeth Harper, on 26 May 1989 at Dallas, Texas.
