She worked as a cashier for Food Giant Grocery Store and retired after 19 years of service. Mrs. Bagwell was a member of Alcovy United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and attended the Young at Heart Sunday School Class. At Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Bagwell participated in senior activities with the Mt. Pleasant Activists. She was also a member of Priceless Antiques. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Bagwell; parents, James Robert and Bertha (Chapman) Parker; and sisters, Mary Nell Garner, Doris Ragan, Pat Langford.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Betty Jean "B.J." and Tony Hawkins of Covington; son and daughter-in-law, James "Elmo" and Shirley Bagwell of Clarkston; 5 grandchildren, Jeff Hawkins, Jason Hawkins, Jody Hawkins, Sharlynn Davis, Joe Bagwell; 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Bagwell will be held Sunday, March 24, 2013, 3:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Teresa Lilja officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Saturday, March 23, from 6:00-9:00 PM.
She was buried at Lawnwood Memorial Park, Covington, Newton County, Georgia.

He married Peggy Ann Miller Fines in 1953; she died in 1992. He married Shirley Ann Ausbon in 1994. He owned and operated Fines Cleaners in Amory for 20 years and was an agent with the Frisco/BNSF Railroad for 46 years before retiring. He was a member of the 20+ Frisco Club and the NRA. A U.S. Army veteran, he served in the Korean War. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching old westerns and playing solitaire.
Services were Tuesday, June 29, at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Sammy Washburn and Bro. Charles Coggins officiating. Burial was in the Masonic Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Ann Fines of Amory; three sons, Thomas David Fines of Tupelo, Randy Morgan of Fulton and Lee Morgan of Amory; one daughter, Tracey Bean of Shannon; five grandchildren, Allison Langford (Chris), Corey Fines (Jennifer), Ryan and Zakkery Bean, and Devon Putney; and three great-grandchildren, Kensli and Rylee Langford, and Mason Bean.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; and a half sister, Jackie Alba.
Pallbearers were Leamon Edgeworth, Charles Langley, Tom Crook, Tim Walters, Corey Fines, Kerry Cole and Paul Morgan. Honorary pallbearers were Dick Millender, Douglas Crook, Pete Randle, Jr. Crook, Joe Suggs, Peanut Estes, coffee buddies at Phil's Place; Oak Tree and BNSF employees; and Dr. Bill Rogers.

He is survived by a daughter, Donna Tucker and husband Charles of Whitesboro; a son, Gene Bagwell and wife Susan of San Marcos; two granddaughters, Sonja Tucker Bilderback and husband Tom of Whitesboro and Jennifer Tucker Towery and husband Michael of Pottsboro; great-grandchildren, Preslie Bilderback of Whitesboro, Zachary Withrow of McKinney, Gunner Withrow of Pottsboro and Faith Jordan of Pottsboro; a friend, Alva Bagwell Walker of Whitesboro and his dog, Precious.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Bagwell; parents, John and Leona Bagwell and wife, Verna Bagwell.

WHITESBORO -- Graveside services for Edward G. Bagwell, 82, will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at Rochester Cemetery, Rochester, Texas with Rev. Alan Mattingly and Tom Bilderback officiating. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro. Visitation will from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, October 8, 2007 at the funeral home.
Mr. Bagwell passed away Sunday, October 7, 2007 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison.
Edward was born on December 8, 1924 to John Benson and Leona Mae (Westmoreland) Bagwell in Gorman, Texas. He was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran. He married Verna Mae Patterson. Edward was of the Baptist faith, he was retired from El Paso Natural Gas Company, he was an avid history buff and he was a certified Hamm Radio Operator.
He is survived by a daughter, Donna Tucker and husband Charles of Whitesboro; a son, Gene Bagwell and wife Susan of San Marcos; two granddaughters, Sonja Tucker Bilderback and husband Tom of Whitesboro and Jennifer Tucker Towery and husband Michael of Pottsboro; great-grandchildren, Preslie Bilderback of Whitesboro, Zachary Withrow of McKinney, Gunner Withrow of Pottsboro and Faith Jordan of Pottsboro; a friend, Alva Bagwell Walker of Whitesboro and his dog, Precious.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Bagwell; parents, John and Leona Bagwell and wife, Verna Bagwell.

Verna Mae Patterson was born on 11 October 1924.1 As of after 1940,her married name was Bagwell. She married Edward Gene Bagwell, son of John Benson Bagwell and Leona Mae Westmoreland, after 1940.
