     Verna Lou Bagwell was born on 26 August 1919 in Horatio, Sevier County, Arkansas. She was the daughter of David Evan Bagwell and Mary Irene Millwee. As of before 1942,her married name was Mote. Verna Lou Bagwell married Noble Hulan Mote before 1942. Verna Lou Bagwell died on 8 October 2013 in Bowie County, Texas, at age 94

     Zoria Dixon was born on 13 July 1882 in Missouri. As of after 1900,her married name was Bagwell. She married Andrew Jackson "Jack" Bagwell, son of Andrew Jackson Bagwell and Elizabeth Brickey, after 1900. Zoria Dixon died on 23 March 1964 at age 81. She was buried at Eight Mile Cemetery, Beedeville, Jackson County, Arkansas.

     Clay Clifford Bagwell was also known as Clayton Bagwell. He was born on 18 February 1902 in Culp, Baxter County, Arkansas. He was the son of Andrew Jackson "Jack" Bagwell and Zoria Dixon. Clay Clifford Bagwell married Tina Pearl Gower on 5 September 1920 at Baxter County, Arkansas. Clay Clifford Bagwell died in April 1968 in Beedeville, Jackson County, Arkansas, at age 66. Mrs. Bagwell was a tax preparer at H&R Block, and a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church. She loved riding and raising horses, fishing, Facebook, and spending time and cooking for her family. She also loved her dogs, Oscar and Shorty.
Mrs. Bagwell was preceded in death by one daughter, Pamela Kaye Adams; two brothers, Hanford William Bagwell, Jr., and James Owen Bagwell; and her parents.
She is survived by one son, Dean Adams and wife Polly of Beedeville; one daughter, Kim Benefield of Cave City, Arkansas; one brother, David Bagwell and wife Patricia of Beedeville; two sisters, Linda Banks and husband Rick of Beedeville and Patsy White and husband Jackie of Hickory Ridge; two grandchildren, Brian Keith Adams of Newport and Deanna Marie Adams of Beedeville; and nephews, Jeffery Bagwell and wife Ashley, Travis Stone, Russell Stone, Dustin White, and Mitchell White.
Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Monday at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Eightmile Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday, 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Dalton Glynn Bagwell married Myrtle Earlene Reed on 30 June 1967. Dalton Glynn Bagwell lived in 2020 in Dover, Tennessee. He died on 15 November 2020 in Dover, Stewart County, Tennessee, at age 85

Mr. Dalton Glenn Bagwell 85 of Dover, passed away on November 14, 2020 at his home. He was born April 30, 1935, son of the late Troy and Gerline Vaughn Bagwell. He was a member of the Wyatt’s Chapel United Methodist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent and song leader for many years and a member of the Indian Mound Masonic Lodge. He worked thirty-nine years with the Town of Dover, served fourteen years as Deputy for the Stewart County Sheriff’s Department during which time he was appointed and served 3 months as Sheriff. He also worked as an EMT for the Stewart County Ambulance Service for many years and he founded and created the Stewart County Rescue Squad where he served as Captain for 30 years with a total of 36 years of service the Rescue Squad.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, Howell Bagwell, Jerry Bagwell and a sister Thelma Bagwell Byrd. He married his loving wife of 53 years, Earlene Reed Bagwell on June 30, 1967. He is survived by one son Michael Bagwell (Cindy) and one daughter Melinda Bagwell Holliday (Bob). Two grandsons Adam Bagwell (Cassie) and Troy Bagwell (Cassie). Two great granddaughters Elizabeth Bagwell and Emma Bagwell. Great grandson Waylon Bagwell and a Great grandson due in December 2020.

Due to the pandemic a graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 with the Reverend Paul Edwards officiating at Stewart County Memorial Gardens including a Masonic service. We encourage all who are comfortable attending please wear a mask and practice social distancing.

Pallbearers will be Adam Bagwell, Troy Bagwell, Nathan Boone, Bob Holliday, Tony Miller, and Jimmy Scurlock.

     Thelma Ann Bagwell was born on 11 November 1929 in Granite City, Madison County, Illinois. She was the daughter of Troy Virgil Bagwell and Gerline Savannah Vaughan. As of 23 December 1952,her married name was Byrd. Thelma Ann Bagwell married Jimmie B. Byrd on 23 December 1952. Thelma Anne Bagwell Byrd, age 90, passed away on March 5, 2020 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. She was born Nov. 11, 1929 in Granite City, IL, the eldest child of Troy and Gerline Vaughn Bagwell.

She was a teacher in both Montgomery and Stewart Counties, worked as a Head Start Director for Stewart, Humphries, and Houston counties, and as a Public Relations Officer for the Stewart County Sheriff’s Department. Mrs. Byrd spent many years at the Department of Human Services as a Child Abuse case worker. She was a graduate of both Stewart County High School and Austin Peay State University.

She married her husband of 61 years, Jimmie B. Byrd, on Dec. 23, 1952. He preceded her in death in 2014. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Howell Bagwell, Jerry Bagwell, and a son-in-law, Michael W. Willis.

She is survived by one daughter, Joy Byrd Willis and grandson Matthew Willis and wife, Jordan, all of Dyersburg, TN; one brother, Dalton Bagwell and wife, Earlene, of Dover, TN and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at Anglin Funeral Home with Rev. Annetta Camp officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Indian Mound, TN. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until the time of service on Sunday.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Willis, Bob Holliday, Brian Byrd, Deryk Wyatt, Adam Bagwell, and Roger Bell.

Mr. Bagwell was an associate professor of anatomy at Louisiana State University Medical Center, New Orleans, La., where he served as director of Medical Gross Anatomy and the Anatomical Board. He won a number of teaching awards and sponsored and sponsored the LSUMC Band, Christian Fellowship and choir. He served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. He was a member of the American Association of Anatomists, the Jefferson Committee for Better Schools, John Calvin Presbyterian Church, the Ulster Project and the Driftwood Civic Association where he coached football and soccer. He was aboard member of the Neutral Ground Coffee House, New Orleans, La.

Elizabeth Bagwell, 87, of Louisville, passed away on Friday, May 14, 2004. She was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church and retired from Enro Shirt Company. She was preceded in death by her husband, Silas Bagwell; her daughter, Charlotte Mattingly; her son, Thomas Bagwell; her granddaughter, Jan Ernspiker; and five brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Catherine & John Yuhas; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and her beloved pet, Lady. Her funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, 5915 Outer Loop, with entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be from noon-8 p.m. Sunday at Resthaven Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or the Kentucky Humane Society.

She is the wife of the late Thomas Cleveland Bagwell, Sr. and daughter of the late Francis Bernard and Mary Gertrude Nally Cahoe.
She was born in Loretta, Ky. In her early years she was a songwriter, played guitar and sang in a country band. Later in life she was a member of the Red Hatter’s Club and enjoyed playing bingo, crafts and gardening.
She is survived by five children, Thomas Cleveland Bagwell, Jr. (Linda), Frances Pamela Cox, both of Louisville, Stephen J. Bagwell of Lawrenceburg, James Bagwell (Denita) of Florida, and Lisa Bagwell Turner of Lawrenceburg; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother and two sisters, Carmen Cahoe, Bonnie Mattingly, Sharmine Denkoff. She was predeceased by five brothers and three sisters.
Services were held March 26 at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Fr. Noel F. Zamora officiating. Cremation followed services.
Honorary bearers were Bryan S. Turner, Zachary Turner, Hunter Bagwell, T.C. Bagwell, Jacob Batovsky and Frankie Edward Dahl. Memorials are suggested to Heritage Hospice.
She was buried at Saint Augustine Church Cemetery, Lebanon, Marion County, Kentucky.

     Will Clarmond Bagwell was born on 24 August 1919 in Arkansas. He was the son of Willie Nelson Bagwell and Nora Mae Chewning. He served in the US Navy as a Watertender 1c.

He served on the USS Maury (DD-401) in 5 Aug 1938 into lae 1939.

He was captured on 12 Dec 1943 and held at the Osaka Main Camp Chikko Osaka 34-135 prison camp by the Japanese until 12 Oct 1945 where he was released from a prison camp at the end of World War II. Will Clarmond Bagwell married Doris Kate Johnson on 2 April 1946 at Little River County, Arkansas. Will Clarmond Bagwell married Effie M. Branch after 1947. Will Clarmond Bagwell died on 14 April 2014 in Paducah, McCracken County, Kentucky, at age 94. He was buried at Carolina Memorial Park, North Charleston, Charleston County, South Carolina.

     Jimmy Clifford Bagwell was born on 24 June 1921 in Arkansas.¹ He was the son of Willie Nelson Bagwell and Nora Mae Chewning. He served in US Navy (MM1) during World War II and the Korean War from from 7 November 1939 to 6 December 1949. Jimmy Clifford Bagwell married Joyce Elizabeth Smith on 18 December 1957 at Clark County, Nevada. Jimmy Clifford Bagwell and Joyce Elizabeth Smith were divorced on 4 September 1963 at Washington County, Arkansas. Jimmy Clifford Bagwell died on 23 December 1994 at age 73.¹ He was buried at Red Lick Cemetery, Red Lick, Bowie County, Texas.¹

She married Frank Burton Bagwell, son of Jesse Lewis Bagwell and Jeannie Mae Weaver, on 28 October 1945 at Darke County, Ohio.
