Norma Jean Jones, 74, widow of Gary Christopher Jones, of Greenville, joined her heavenly father on June 21, 2017.

Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Clifton Murphy Anderson and Jessie Mae Hicks Bagwell.

Norma Jean was a beautiful person and worked for over forty years in her beauty shop making others smile while doing their hair. She was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Melody Carnes (Russ); a son, David Jones (Kim); four grandchildren, Blake Jones (Katy), Jack Carnes, Caden Carnes, and Nick Gardner and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers and sisters-in-laws.

In addition to her parents and loving husband, Norma Jean was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Green; and three brothers, J.W. Bagwell, Ralph Bagwell, and Jewel Bagwell.

Burial in Greenville Memorial Gardens.1

Catherine V. Bagwell, 95, of Longmeadow, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016 at her home in Glenmeadow. Born in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Sydney and Helen Bertherman. Kay grew up in Rhode Island, attended Classical High School and graduated from the Rhode Island School of Nursing with a Registered Nurse degree. During World War II she was a Navy nurse stationed in Newport, Rhode Island and Miami, Florida. In 1946 Lieutenant JG Catherine Bertherman was discharged from the Navy. While in the service Kay met James Bagwell and they were married in 1946.
In 1950, the Bagwells moved to Springfield and later to Longmeadow. Kay was a member of the Longmeadow Country Club where she enjoyed playing golf with the “9 Holers”. She was an active supporter of St. Mary’s Parish, Bay State Medical Center Auxiliary, the Springfield Rescue Mission and the Loaves and Fishes.
Kay was predeceased by her husband, Jim in 2010; and 1 brother and 3 sisters. She is survived by her loving daughter, Susan Connolly and Susan’s husband Gregory of Belmont, MA; 4 beloved grandchildren, Michelle Specht, Maura Penzone, Deirdre Bertrand, and James Connolly; 11 cherished great-grandchildren; and her sister, Claire Bailey.
Her family will receive friends on Friday, November 4th from 4-7 PM at the Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow. Her Funeral Service will begin on Saturday, November 5th at the funeral home at 8:45 AM, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Church, Longmeadow. She is survived by one son, Dean Adams and wife Polly of Beedeville; one daughter, Kim Benefield of Cave City, Arkansas; one brother, David Bagwell and wife Patricia of Beedeville; two sisters, Linda Banks and husband Rick of Beedeville and Patsy White and husband Jackie of Hickory Ridge; two grandchildren, Brian Keith Adams of Newport and Deanna Marie Adams of Beedeville; and nephews, Jeffery Bagwell and wife Ashley, Travis Stone, Russell Stone, Dustin White, and Mitchell White.
Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Monday at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Eightmile Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday, 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Mr. Dalton Glenn Bagwell 85 of Dover, passed away on November 14, 2020 at his home. He was born April 30, 1935, son of the late Troy and Gerline Vaughn Bagwell. He was a member of the Wyatt’s Chapel United Methodist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent and song leader for many years and a member of the Indian Mound Masonic Lodge. He worked thirty-nine years with the Town of Dover, served fourteen years as Deputy for the Stewart County Sheriff’s Department during which time he was appointed and served 3 months as Sheriff. He also worked as an EMT for the Stewart County Ambulance Service for many years and he founded and created the Stewart County Rescue Squad where he served as Captain for 30 years with a total of 36 years of service the Rescue Squad.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, Howell Bagwell, Jerry Bagwell and a sister Thelma Bagwell Byrd. He married his loving wife of 53 years, Earlene Reed Bagwell on June 30, 1967. He is survived by one son Michael Bagwell (Cindy) and one daughter Melinda Bagwell Holliday (Bob). Two grandsons Adam Bagwell (Cassie) and Troy Bagwell (Cassie). Two great granddaughters Elizabeth Bagwell and Emma Bagwell. Great grandson Waylon Bagwell and a Great grandson due in December 2020.

Due to the pandemic a graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 with the Reverend Paul Edwards officiating at Stewart County Memorial Gardens including a Masonic service. We encourage all who are comfortable attending please wear a mask and practice social distancing.

Pallbearers will be Adam Bagwell, Troy Bagwell, Nathan Boone, Bob Holliday, Tony Miller, and Jimmy Scurlock.

Thelma Anne Bagwell Byrd, age 90, passed away on March 5, 2020 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. She was born Nov. 11, 1929 in Granite City, IL, the eldest child of Troy and Gerline Vaughn Bagwell.

She was a teacher in both Montgomery and Stewart Counties, worked as a Head Start Director for Stewart, Humphries, and Houston counties, and as a Public Relations Officer for the Stewart County Sheriff’s Department. Mrs. Byrd spent many years at the Department of Human Services as a Child Abuse case worker. She was a graduate of both Stewart County High School and Austin Peay State University.

She married her husband of 61 years, Jimmie B. Byrd, on Dec. 23, 1952. He preceded her in death in 2014. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Howell Bagwell, Jerry Bagwell, and a son-in-law, Michael W. Willis.

She is survived by one daughter, Joy Byrd Willis and grandson Matthew Willis and wife, Jordan, all of Dyersburg, TN; one brother, Dalton Bagwell and wife, Earlene, of Dover, TN and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at Anglin Funeral Home with Rev. Annetta Camp officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Indian Mound, TN. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until the time of service on Sunday.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Willis, Bob Holliday, Brian Byrd, Deryk Wyatt, Adam Bagwell, and Roger Bell.

He won a number of teaching awards and sponsored and sponsored the LSUMC Band, Christian Fellowship and choir. He served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. He was a member of the American Association of Anatomists, the Jefferson Committee for Better Schools, John Calvin Presbyterian Church, the Ulster Project and the Driftwood Civic Association where he coached football and soccer. He was aboard member of the Neutral Ground Coffee House, New Orleans, La.

     Gertrude Jeanette Cahoe was born on 21 April 1932 in Lorette, Marion County, Kentucky. As of 1953,her married name was Bagwell. She married Thomas Cleveland Bagwell, son of Silas Edward Bagwell and Elizabeth Aleta Cambron, in 1953 at Kentucky. Gertrude Jeanette Cahoe died on 22 March 2013 in Harrodsburg, Mercer County, Kentucky, at age 80
Gertrude Jeanette Cahoe Bagwell, 80, died Friday, March 22, 2013, at Kindred Nursing Home in Harrodsburg.
She is the wife of the late Thomas Cleveland Bagwell, Sr. and daughter of the late Francis Bernard and Mary Gertrude Nally Cahoe.
She was born in Loretta, Ky. In her early years she was a songwriter, played guitar and sang in a country band. Later in life she was a member of the Red Hatter’s Club and enjoyed playing bingo, crafts and gardening.
She is survived by five children, Thomas Cleveland Bagwell, Jr. (Linda), Frances Pamela Cox, both of Louisville, Stephen J. Bagwell of Lawrenceburg, James Bagwell (Denita) of Florida, and Lisa Bagwell Turner of Lawrenceburg; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother and two sisters, Carmen Cahoe, Bonnie Mattingly, Sharmine Denkoff. She was predeceased by five brothers and three sisters.
Services were held March 26 at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Fr. Noel F. Zamora officiating. Cremation followed services.
Honorary bearers were Bryan S. Turner, Zachary Turner, Hunter Bagwell, T.C. Bagwell, Jacob Batovsky and Frankie Edward Dahl. Memorials are suggested to Heritage Hospice.

She was buried at Saint Augustine Church Cemetery, Lebanon, Marion County, Kentucky.

     Louise S. Bagwell was born on 16 January 1906. She was the daughter of Charles Ervin Bagwell and Hattie Jane Dorsey. Louise S. Bagwell died on 14 October 1996 at age 90. She was buried at Louisville Cemetery, Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky.
