KILGORE, TEXAS — Teresa Lynn Bagwell, 60, completed her earthly journey on Sunday, January 7, 2024 with her loving family by her side. Teresa was born in Overton, Texas on June 19, 1963 to Mary and Clifford Meyer. Teresa grew up in Kilgore, Texas and was a 1981 graduate from Kilgore High School. She met the love of her life, Robert Bagwell, on March 14, 1977 in Laird Hill, Texas. Robert and Teresa became Christians in 1983 and soon after were married. Robert and Teresa were married for forty years; their unwavering commitment to each other was the kind of loving companionship that inspired everyone who witnessed it. They went on to have four children, Hollie, Heather, Joanna, and Robert Mitchel.
Teresa’s main desire in life was to be a housewife and to take care of her husband and children and provide a loving and Godly home for them. Teresa never met a stranger. She loved visiting with her friends, shopping with her daughters, keeping an orderly household, cooking a delicious home-cooked meal, and tending to her chickens. In the last six years and four months of her life, she courageously battled cancer and despite the hardships and pain, she always had a smile on her face. She fought until the very end. Her other greatest joy in life was loving on her grandchildren: Jenna, Annalyn, Owen, Lillian, Jackson, and Allison.
Teresa is survived by her husband Robert, her children Hollie (Josh) Wheeler, Heather (Nathan) Brushe, Joanna (Brad) Greener, and Robert (Tiffany) Bagwell, her six grandchildren, and her siblings Wesley Meyer, Melissa Butler, and Donna Barry. She also leaves behind beloved nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own. Teresa also loved her aunts, uncles, and cousins so dearly.
Visitation was held Wednesday evening, January 10, 2024 from 4:30 p.m. -6:30 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Services were held on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore with Pastor Rusty Silvertooth and Pastor Joshua Howington officiating. Burial will follow at Kilgore City Cemetery.

     Catherine Chattom married Robert Joel Bagwell, son of Robert Bruce Bagwell and Debra Kay Horschler, on 2 December 2005 at Texas. Catherine Chattom and Robert Joel Bagwell were divorced on 6 January 2011 at Tarrant County, Texas.

     Joyce Ilene Gulledge was born on 22 January 1938 in Kerrville, Kerr County, Texas. As of 30 March 1959,her married name was Bagwell. She married Johnny Robert Bagwell, son of James Howard "Ike" Bagwell and Helen Bernece Odle, on 30 March 1959. Joyce Ilene Gulledge and Johnny Robert Bagwell were divorced on 12 July 1972 at Dallas County, Texas. Joyce Ilene Gulledge died on 24 April 2024 in Dallas County, Texas, at age 86. She was buried at Hughes Cemetery, Avalon, Ellis County, Texas.

     Robert Dean Bagwell was born on 24 April 1962 in Texas. He was the son of Johnny Robert Bagwell and Joyce Ilene Gulledge. Robert Dean Bagwell died on 19 December 1993 at age 31. He was buried at Hughes Cemetery, Avalon, Ellis County, Texas.

     Lillian West married Johnny Monroe Bagwell, son of Elijah Walker Bagwell and Leitha Mae Martin, before 1947.

     Samuel Lee Bagwell was born on 7 June 1949. He was the son of Johnny Monroe Bagwell and Lillian West. Samuel Lee Bagwell lived in 1999 in Aiken, South Carolina. He died on 8 March 2022 at age 72

Samuel “Sam” Lee Bagwell, 72, resident of 5207 Highway 185, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Self Regional Healthcare.

Born June 7, 1949, in Easley, he was a son of the late Johnny Monroe and Lillian West Bagwell. He was a graduate of Easley High school, and retired from teaching at Aiken Technical College and Wagener-Salley High School. Sam was a US Army Veteran in the First Cavalry Division, and was awarded Purple Heart, Medal of Valor, and a Bronze Star.

Surviving are a son, Elijah Lee Bagwell of Hodges; two daughters, Felicia Dougherty (Justin) of Hodges and Barrett B. Rampey (Todd) of Easley; three grandchildren, Jackson Rampey, Jamesyn Dougherty, and Lyncoln Dougherty; and a brother, Weldon M. Bagwell of New Market, VA.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

     Weldon Monroe Bagwell is the son of Johnny Monroe Bagwell and Lillian West. Weldon Monroe Bagwell married Marilyn Inez Brown on 1 July 1972 at Greenville, South Carolina.

     Marilyn Inez Brown married Weldon Monroe Bagwell, son of Johnny Monroe Bagwell and Lillian West, on 1 July 1972 at Greenville, South Carolina.

     Carol Nix Spearman married Johnny Monroe Bagwell, son of Elijah Walker Bagwell and Leitha Mae Martin, after 1950.

     Candace Marie Bagwell is the daughter of Lanny Dean Bagwell and Etta (?) Candace Marie Bagwell married Owen Eugene Bruce on 15 August 1998 at Greer, South Carolina.

     (?) Wright married Jewel Estelle Bagwell, daughter of Elijah Walker Bagwell and Leotto Cantrell, after 1930.

     Annie Carolyn Holloway was born on 19 March 1928 in Campton, Walton County, Georgia. As of 10 August 1957,her married name was Bagwell. She married Jimmy Myron Bagwell, son of Nathen Garland Bagwell and Mamie Florence England, on 10 August 1957 at Georgia. Annie Carolyn Holloway died on 3 December 2012 in Winder, Georgia, at age 84


Annie Carolyn Bagwell, age 84, of Winder passed away Monday, December 3, 2012.

She worked as a secretary for Walton County Hospital for many years and was a member of St. Stephen's Methodist Church in Monroe. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Ambrouse and Alice Mae Harris Holloway; husband, Jimmy Myron Bagwell; and a brother, Charles Redford Holloway.

Survivors include: her son, Keith (Susan) Bagwell of Winder; three daughters, Karen Kitchens of Flowery Branch, Kathy (Ben) Taylor of Villa Rica and Kim (Frank) Gingerich of Statham; son-in-law, Terry Kitchens of Maysville; her sister, Rachel Bolton of Monroe; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 4 from 5 – 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 5 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Scott Bagwell officiating.

     Frank Wilson Gingerich was born on 17 April 1961 in Middletown, Butler County, Ohio. He married Kim Bagwell, daughter of Jimmy Myron Bagwell and Annie Carolyn Holloway, after 1980. Frank Wilson Gingerich died on 21 September 2014 in Statham, Berrow County, Georgia, at age 53.

     Patricia Bagwell was born on 31 January 1934.¹ She was the daughter of Leonard John Bagwell and Jessie Lou Moody. As of after 1953,her married name was Hudspeth. Patricia Bagwell married Phil Hudspeth after 1953. Patricia Bagwell died on 15 March 2022 at age 88.¹ She was buried on 18 March 2022 at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City, Gaston City, North Carolina.¹

     Phil Hudspeth married Patricia Bagwell, daughter of Leonard John Bagwell and Jessie Lou Moody, after 1953.

     Marla Elizabeth Bagwell is the daughter of Charles Arthur Bagwell and Piccola Elizabeth Hall. Marla Elizabeth Bagwell married (?) Mann on 30 May 1992 at Bay County, Florida.

     Celina Denise Bagwell is the daughter of Charles Arthur Bagwell and Shirley Ann Emory. Celina Denise Bagwell married James Robert Green on 10 February 1985 at Bay County, Florida.

     Stephanie Charlene Bagwell is the daughter of Charles Arthur Bagwell and Shirley Ann Emory. Stephanie Charlene Bagwell married (?) Doster before 1983. Stephanie Charlene Bagwell married Phylip Lee Esteridge on 13 October 1984 at Bay County, Florida. Stephanie Charlene Bagwell and Phylip Lee Esteridge were divorced on 14 February 1989 at Bay County, Florida.

     DeWayne Bagwell is the son of Charles Arthur Bagwell.

     Charles DeMorest Bagwell is the son of Charles Arthur Bagwell and Piccola Elizabeth Hall.
