Mr. Bagwell served in the United States Marines. He retired after serving as Captain of the Police Force of Furman University for 17 years. Prior to working at Furman University, he served as a Captain of the Greenville County Sherriff’s Department for ten years and he was also Athletic Director for Monaghan Mill.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by a daughter, Melissa (Missy) Packard (Jeff); a son, Danny Scott Bagwell; four grandchildren, Ross (Allie), Rachel Packard, Griffin, and Tyson Bagwell; a brother, Robert Bagwell (Sue). He was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Eugene Bagwell.

GERALD "Jerry" EUGENE BAGWELL, 72, died Sunday, January 14, 2018.

Born in Greenville he was a son of Sarah Elizabeth Buchanan Bagwell and the late James Manuel Bagwell. Jerry proudly served our Country in the US Marine Corps and was an avid fisherman. He loved being outside and coaching softball.

He is survived by one son, Jay Bagwell (Elisabeth); a daughter, Anna Bagwell; four granddaughters, Emily Wilkins and Caroline, Reese and Clare Bagwell; and two brothers, Robert Bagwell (Sue) and Danny Bagwell (Linda).

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Samantha Wilkins.

Visitation will be held Friday January 19, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home Northwest. A Graveside Service will be held at a later date.

Roy Lee Bagwell, age 76, of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at NorthCrest Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 1pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Steve Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in the Robertson County Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. In addition to his parents Mr. Bagwell is preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Bagwell, his daughter, Kimberly Chowning, and his granddaughter, Candice Owens. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Norum Bagwell; son, Timothy (Rhonda) Bagwell of Hendersonville; daughters, Tammy Hughes of White House and Lisa (Alvin) Smith of Gatlinburg; brothers, Vincent (Juanita) Bagwell of Springfield, Billy Bagwell of Greenbrier, James (Norma) Bagwell of Freeman Spur, IL, Joe (Juli) Bagwell of Cedar Hill, Bob (Evonda) Bagwell of Bowling Green, KY, and John (Sherry) Bagwell of Greenbrier; sisters, Elizabeth (Joe) McClard of Franklin, KY, Norma (Earl) Sowell of Alexandria, TN and Nancy (Lewis) Heatherly of Springfield; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

     Linda Ann Hunter was born on 31 March 1942 in Robertson County, Tennessee. She married Roy Lee Bagwell, son of Walter Bagwell and Bessie Florence Ellis, on 27 June 1959 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Springfield, Robertson County, Tennessee. As of 27 June 1984,her married name was Bagwell. Linda Ann Hunter died on 14 March 2011 in Springfield, Robertson County, Tennessee, at age 68


Linda Ann Bagwell was born March 31, 1942 in Robertson County, Tennessee. She passed away Monday, March 14, 2011 at Northcrest Medical Center in Springfield, Tennessee at 68 years of age. Linda was the daughter of James Robert Hunter and Annie Corbitt Hunter, who preceded her in death. Linda was also preceded in death by son, Kenneth Lee Bagwell and brother James H. Hunt. She is survived by one son, Timothy Bryan Bagwell of Hendersonville; three daughters, Kimberly Ann Chowning of Springfield, Tammy Lynn Hughes of White House and Lisa Michelle (Alvin) Smith of Springfield; eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Linda was a homemaker. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Memorial Service will be held 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 16th at Austin & Bell Funeral Home, Springfield, Tennessee. Final disposition will be cremation.

Mrs. Bagwell was born October, 13, 1941 in Highland Park, MI to the late Ralph Oliver and Minnie Marion Wilkerson Norum. She was a Staffing Coordinator for an employment agency and a member of Grace Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bagwell was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Bagwell; and a stepson, Kenneth Bagwell.

She is survived by her stepchildren, Timothy Brian (Rhonda) Bagwell, Tammy L. Hughes and Lisa (Alvin) Smith; 9 step grandchildren, Jordan Hughes, Justin Hughes, Logan Hughes, Sarah Smith, Douglas Smith, Andrea Wilson, Taylor Bagwell, Cole Bagwell and Bryan Bagwell; 8 step great grandchildren, Scout Hughes, Holton Hughes, Ember Hughes, Dani Bagwell, Weston Bagwell, Deklyn Bagwell, Finn Wilson and Lila Wilson.

     Kenneth Lee Bagwell was born on 26 December 1969 in Detroit, Michigan. He was the son of Roy Lee Bagwell and Linda Ann Hunter. Kenneth Lee Bagwell married Annette (?) after 1998. Kenneth Lee Bagwell died on 22 November 2008 at age 38

Millard Lelton Woods died on 3 August 1969 at age 51. He was buried at Roswell Creek Cemetery, Strawberry, Blount County, Alabama.

     Wilma Lou Bagwell was born on 16 July 1927 in Alabama. She was the daughter of Herman Jack Bagwell and Eva Mae Mahan. As of after 1946,her married name was Cotty. Wilma Lou Bagwell married Glenn Martin Cotty after 1946. Wilma Lou Bagwell died on 4 November 2009 at age 82. She was buried at Biloxi National Cemetery, Biloxi, Harrison County, Mississippi.

     Sergeant Cecil Ray Bagwell was born on 4 January 1931 in Alabama. He was the son of Herman Jack Bagwell and Eva Mae Mahan. Sergeant Cecil Ray Bagwell died on 19 September 1951 in North Korea at age 20 Killed in Korean War.

Sergeant Bagwell was a member of Company A, 1st Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division (US Army). He was listed as Missing in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on September 19, 1951. He was presumed dead on March 2, 1954.
