Eleanor R. Bagwell, 94, wife of the late Garland A. Bagwell, passed away Friday, May 17, 2019 at RoseCrest Nursing Home. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Born February 25, 1925 in Boiling Springs, SC, she was the daughter of the late Robert Percy and Ella Nora Turner McMillin.

She was a graduate of Boiling Springs High School and Cecil’s Business College with a Secretarial degree. She retired from South Carolina Social Security Administration. Eleanor was a lifelong resident of Boiling Springs with much family history in the community and a member of the Boiling Springs First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her two sons, Terry Bagwell (Lynn) of Boiling Springs, SC and Steve Bagwell of Spartanburg, SC; five grandchildren, Phil Bagwell (Beth Ann) of Boiling Springs, Jason Bagwell (Michelle) of Boiling Springs, SC, Grace Adams (Clayton) of Athens, GA, Ashley Daugherty (Michael) of Irmo, SC, and Anah Bagwell of Spartanburg, SC; and nine great grandchildren. She was predeceased in death by four brothers and two sisters, and a daughter-in-law, Gail Bagwell.

A graveside service will be at 11:00 AM Monday, May 20, 2019 at Boiling Springs First Baptist Church Cemetery, 3600 Boiling Springs Road, Boiling Springs, SC 29316, conducted by The Rev. Bobby Lindsey. Visitation will follow at the graveside.

She married Clay Raymond Bagwell, son of Oscar Judson Bagwell and Mary Saphronia Cope, on 2 September 1938 at Crittenden County, Arkansas. Cecil Kyle died on 8 April 1967 in El Paso, El Paso County, Texas, at age 80.¹ She was buried at Restlawn Memorial Park, El Paso, El Paso County, Texas.¹

     Clyde Ellis Bagwell was born on 21 September 1942. He was the son of Wiley Talmadge Bagwell and Pearl Ellen Johnson. Clyde Ellis Bagwell died on 28 October 2013 at age 71.

     Mattie Irene Bagwell is the daughter of Wiley Talmadge Bagwell and Pearl Ellen Johnson. Mattie Irene Bagwell married Clarence Fermon Guice after 1955.

     William Hearn Bagwell was also known as William Herron Bagwell. He was born on 3 September 1925 in Lincoln Parish, Louisiana. He was the son of Clarence Bagwell and Searana Worthington. William Hearn Bagwell died on 9 July 1992 at age 66. He was buried at Mimosa-Pines South Cemetery, Carlyss, Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana.

Born April 29, 1918 in Calvin, La to William and Lily Canerday, Mr. Canerday was a member of the United States Army for 6 years and served in World War II. He retired from Old South Life Insurance and also worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service, a newspaper deliverer for the Alexandria Daily Town Talk, Cary Salt Mine and also served on the Winn Parish Police Jury. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, gardening and socializing at the Canerday Deer Camp. Mr. Canerday was a member of the First Baptist Church in Winnfield, La.

He is proceded in death by is wife of 63 year Mrs. Ira Vee Ray Canerday. 4 Bothers, Herman, Gerald, WC and Clifford Canerday.

Those left to cherish his memory one daughter Melissa Hayes and husband Daniel of Houston, TX. one son Benny Canerday of Winnfield, La. one Brother Bobby D Canerday and wife Shirley of Calvin, La. one grandson Brian Canerday and wife Jessica of Calvin, La and 2 great grandchildren. Services are under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield, La., where the family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM Friday, December 16, 2011. Funeral services will be held at Southern Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Friday, December 16, 2011, with Rev. John Holland and Rev. C.W. Jones officiating. Interment will be at Garden Of Memories Cemetery in Winnfield, La.

Ruby Lee Long died on 12 April 2008 in Lexington, Lexington County, South Carolina, at age 94. She was buried at Saint James Lutheran Church Cemetery, Newberry County, South Carolina.

     William Hal Plumblee was born on 24 November 1913 in Greenville County, South Carolina. He married Ruby Lee Long on 20 July 1947. William Hal Plumblee died on 28 April 1956 in Greer County, South Carolina, at age 42.

Thomas Jerry Bagwell married Iris Ann Bowen in 1967 at Greenville, South Carolina. Thomas Jerry Bagwell died on 8 December 2022 in Williamston, South Carolina, at age 85.

     Roy Leland Bagwell was born in 1941 in Honea Path, South Carolina. He was the son of Glenn Howard Bagwell and Reba Pauline Welborn. Ayenda Love Bagwell died on 4 October 2017 in Greenville, Greenville County, South Carolina, at age 78. She was buried at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Greenville, Greenville County, South Carolina.

Lora Velma “Granny” (Whiting) Bagwell, age 101, of Martin, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at her home.
Born May 5, 1912, in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mamie Heaster (Thomas) Whiting. She retired from Carwood Manufacturing as a seamstress. Mrs. Bagwell was a member of Clarks Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: William Lonnie Bagwell; daughter: Lonnie Sue Bagwell; daughter-in-law: Christine Bagwell; great-granddaughter: Erin Collins; and siblings: Clarence Whiting, Clyde Whiting, Eva Wilson, and Ruth Tiller.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Lorene & Sandy Maupin and Martha & Hugh Ed Phillips; sons: James Bagwell and Bruce Bagwell; grandchildren: Debbie Holt, Patty Collins, Pam Baxter, Mark Bagwell, Melinda Brown, Dianne Bentley, Keith Whitfield, Ken Whitfield, Kevin Whitfield, and Daphne Farmer; fifteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2013 at Clarks Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Brett Ginn, Rev. Ken Whitfield, and Rev. Alan Cole officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
