     Edna Grace Bagwell was born circa 1906 in Bolling Green, Indiana. She was the daughter of Martin David Bagwell and Mary Susan Taylor. Edna Grace Bagwell died on 5 October 1930 in New Castle, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania. She died on 9 October 1930 in Kansas City, Missouri.

     Elmer Harland McMillan was born on 18 June 1893 in Pomona, Jackson County, Illinois. He married Effie Mae Bagwell, daughter of James Burrell Bagwell and Hattie Fray, before 1914. Elmer Harland McMillan died on 21 August 1948 in Herrin, Williamson County, Illinois, at age 55.

     Leona M. Gore was born on 15 January 1894 in Illinois. As of before 1910,her married name was Bagwell. She married William Ora Bagwell, son of James Burrell Bagwell and Hattie Fray, before 1910.      Rayburn Emerson Bagwell was born on 6 April 1910 in Willisville, Perry County, Illinois.¹ He was the son of William Ora Bagwell and Leona M. Gore.¹ Rayburn Emerson Bagwell married Marguerite Fitze after 1925.² Rayburn Emerson Bagwell died on 17 February 1992 in Missouri at age 81.¹ He was buried on 20 February 1992 at Sunset Memorial Park and Mausoleum, Affton, St. Louis County, Missouri.¹

     Marguerite Fitze was born on 15 September 1912.¹ As of after 1925,her married name was Bagwell.¹ She married Rayburn Emerson Bagwell, son of William Ora Bagwell and Leona M. Gore, after 1925.¹ Marguerite Fitze died on 9 January 1996 in Saint Louis, Missouri, at age 83.¹ She was buried at Sunset Memorial Park and Mausoleum, Affton, St. Louis County, Missouri.¹

     Allen Buryl Bagwell was born on 27 November 1913 in Willisville, Perry County, Illinois.¹ He was the son of William Ora Bagwell and Leona M. Gore. Allen Buryl Bagwell married Eleanor Laverne Haumschilt before 1943. Allen Buryl Bagwell died on 25 April 1957 in St. Louis, Missouri, at age 43.¹ He was buried at Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens, Pagedale, St. Louis County, Missouri.¹

     Thomas L. Bagwell was born on 22 November 1916 in Willisville, Perry County, Illinois. He was the son of William Ora Bagwell and Leona M. Gore. Thomas L. Bagwell died on 23 October 1932 in St. Louis City, Missouri, at age 15. He was buried at Looney Springs Cemetery, Campbell Hill, Jackson County, Illinois.

     Minnie Margaret Kramm was born on 22 February 1913 in Illinois.¹ As of 13 March 1930,her married name was Bagwell.¹ She married Walter Ralph Bagwell, son of Lindsay E. Bagwell and Lillie J. Sebastian, on 13 March 1930 at Indiana.¹ Minnie Margaret Kramm and Walter Ralph Bagwell lived in 1950 in St. Louis, St. Louis County, Missouri. Minnie Margaret Kramm died on 19 August 1992 in Missouri at age 79.¹ She was buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, Lemay, St. Louis County, Missouri.¹

     Neva Marie Miller was born on 23 July 1891 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. As of 1911,her married name was Bagwell. She married Albert Ross Bagwell, son of James Henry Bagwell and Mary Jane Brown, in 1911. Neva Marie Miller died on 29 August 1969 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, at age 78.

     Albert Ross Bagwell was born on 20 October 1912 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. He was the son of Albert Ross Bagwell and Neva Marie Miller. Albert Ross Bagwell married Martha Catherine Mattson after 1928. Albert Ross Bagwell died on 20 March 1994 in Eden Prairie, Hennepin County, Minnesota, at age 81. He was buried on 26 March 1994 at Mount Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst, DuPage County, Illinois.

     Martha Catherine Mattson was born on 11 March 1908 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. As of after 1928,her married name was Bagwell. She married Albert Ross Bagwell, son of Albert Ross Bagwell and Neva Marie Miller, after 1928. Martha Catherine Mattson died on 3 January 1994 in Eden Prairie, Hennepin County, Minnesota, at age 85. She was buried at Mount Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst, DuPage County, Illinois.

     Bertha North was also known as Bertha Schwob. She was born in 1871. As of 27 November 1887,her married name was Bagwell. She married Daniel Van Buren Bagwell, son of James Henry Bagwell and Mary Jane Brown, on 27 November 1887 at Jackson County, Illinois. Bertha North died in 1898. She was buried at Mount Hope Cemetery, Belleville, St. Clair County, Illinois.

     Virgil Lee Bagwell was born on 11 September 1902 in Illinois.¹ He was the son of James Burrell Bagwell and Hattie Fray.¹ Virgil Lee Bagwell married Mabel Beatman before 1930. Virgil Lee Bagwell died on 26 February 1970 in Saint Louis, Saint Louis City, Missouri, at age 67.¹ He was buried at Looney Springs Cemetery, Campbell Hill, Jackson County, Illinois.

     Hattie (?) married Albert Daniel Bagwell, son of James Burrell Bagwell and Hattie Fray, before 1914.

     Alberta Bagwell is the daughter of Albert Daniel Bagwell and Hattie (?)

     Floyd L. Bagwell was born on 27 August 1916 in Illinois. He was the son of Albert Daniel Bagwell and Hattie (?) Floyd L. Bagwell died on 24 July 1943 in Clayton, St. Louis County, Missouri, at age 26. He was buried at Looney Springs Cemetery, Campbell Hill, Jackson County, Illinois.

     Lavena Bagwell is the son of Albert Daniel Bagwell and Hattie (?)

     Ted V. Bagwell was born on 11 October 1919 in Illinois.¹ He was the son of Albert Daniel Bagwell and Hattie (?) Ted V. Bagwell died on 3 September 2006 at age 86.¹ He was buried at Looney Springs Cemetery, Campbell Hill, Jackson County, Illinois.¹

     Nannie Pardue was born on 1 December 1896. As of 21 December 1916,her married name was Bagwell. She married James Edgar Bagwell, son of Edward Baxter Clegg Bagwell and Sarah Carson Mays, on 21 December 1916 at Vance County, North Carolina. Nannie Pardue died on 20 June 1982 at age 85. She was buried at Elmwood Cemetery, Henderson, Vance County, North Carolina.

     Norma (?) and Albert Lee Bagwell Jr. were divorced on 18 August 1975 at Anson County, North Carolina.

     Claude Wendall Reed married Loraine Ossie Bagwell, daughter of John Royce Bagwell and Rozelle Margaret Gaines, on 4 April 1942 at Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.

     Ruth Evelyn McGaha was also known as Evelyn Ruth McGaha. She was born on 14 June 1926 in Atlanta, Georgia.¹ As of after 1940,her married name was Bagwell. She married James Cecil Bagwell, son of Joel Fred Bagwell and Eva Jane Mull, after 1940. Ruth Evelyn McGaha married Joe Worthey after 1972. Ruth Evelyn McGaha died on 28 October 2009 in Pickens, North Carolina, at age 83.¹ She was buried at Graceland West Cemetery and Mausoleum, Greenville, Greenville County, South Carolina.¹

     Ervin Joel Bagwell is the son of Joel William Bagwell and Anna Amelia Behre. Ervin Joel Bagwell married Virginia Helen Boykin before 1959.

     Daniel Bagwell was born in 1910 in Greenville County, South Carolina.¹ He was the son of Donald Virice Bagwell and Hattie Lillian Waters.¹ Daniel Bagwell married Gaynell C after 1932.² Daniel Bagwell died on 2 April 2001 in South Carolina
Daniel Bagwell, 90, a former longtime resident of Rutledge Ave., and husband of the late Gaynell C. Bagwell, died Monday, April 2, 2001, at Lexington Medical Center Extended Care.

Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Donald V. and Lillian Waters Bagwell. He was retired from J.P. Stevens Co. Inc., and was a member of Sans Souci Baptist Church.

Surviving are a son and a daughter-in-law, Gary Dan "Danny" and Bessie T. Bagwell of Columbia; two grandchildren, LaDonna Lee Davis of Irmo and Dana Beth Burnett of Lexington; four great-grandchildren, Kaitlin Lee Davis and K. Chandler Davis Jr., both of Irmo, Brandon Elizabeth Cooper and Dana Logan Cooper, both of Lexington.

     Gary Dan "Danny" Bagwell was born on 20 April 1934 in Greenville, South Carolina.¹ He was the son of Daniel Bagwell and Gaynell C.¹ Gary Dan "Danny" Bagwell married Bessie Lee Turner on 19 December 1953 at South Carolina. Gary Dan "Danny" Bagwell died on 29 May 2023 at age 89


Gary Dan “Danny” Bagwell, 89, entered into his heavenly home on Monday, May 29, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was an outstanding example of a true Christian southern gentleman.

Danny was born in Greenville, SC, on April 20, 1934, to Daniel and Gaynell Bagwell, as an only child. He grew up in the Monaghan Mills community where he discovered his love for playing baseball in the nearby sandlot throughout his childhood. Before attending Parker High School, he met the love of his life, Bessie Lee Turner, at summer camp, and they soon became high school sweethearts.

While at Parker High School, Danny was a three-sport athlete excelling in football, basketball, and baseball while being highly ranked scholastically and was considered a fine all-round student. Coach Whitie Kendall of Parker considered Danny “one of the two best all-round athletes he had ever had.” He noted Danny was an all-round “good boy and good student.” In May 1952, he was awarded The Greenville Piedmont best all-round athlete medal for the second consecutive year and was a member of the North South team.

Upon graduating from Parker High School in 1952, Danny was a highly recruited football prospect but decided to attend The Georgia Institute of Technology due to the fact that Coach Bobby Dodd approved of his players being married. On December 19, 1953, Danny married his beloved Bessie Lee Turner who supported him throughout his football college years playing offensive and defensive end for the Yellow Jackets. One of the highlights of his college career was playing in the January 2, 1956, Sugar Bowl in which the 7th ranked Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets defeated the 11th ranked Pittsburgh Panthers, 7 – 0.

Later in 1956, Danny graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in Industrial Engineering and began his professional career with Southern Bell in Greenville, SC, while serving in the Army Reserves as an officer. Throughout his career, Danny transferred among cities within South Carolina with a two-year assignment in New York. While serving as an Operations Manager, Danny was also involved with various civic organizations, including the Lion’s Club and Jaycees. In addition, he served on various church committees and with several school parent-teacher organizations, was a basketball referee, and was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. He enjoyed researching his genealogy and playing golf.

Even though Danny was a well-respected businessman and athlete, his true love and devotion was to his family. Danny and Bessie were the proud parents of two daughters, LaDonna and Dana. Danny was a true Christian role model for his girls by instilling the importance of hard work, perseverance, excelling in academics, developing strong character, standing up for what is right and just, having a good sense of humor as well as loving and respecting others.

In September 1981, Danny became “Granddaddy” to his only grandson, Chandler, followed by three granddaughters Kaitlin, Brandon, and Logan. Granddaddy was always grinning from ear to ear and held a monopoly on holding his grandbabies. Granddaddy created his “Duck” drawing which became his signature addition to all cards and special gifts. On June 4, 2010, Granddaddy’s Duck became GGDaddy’s Duck with the birth of his first great-grandson soon followed by seven additional great-grandsons, and one great-granddaughter. Throughout the years, Danny always supported and encouraged his daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren by attending numerous fashion shows, school programs, ballgames, dance recitals and competitions, chorus performances, cheerleading competitions, birthday parties, graduations, weddings, and he took great joy in celebrating special times and holidays with his family. His family adored him and loved listening to all his many stories from his childhood and sports experiences, plus they learned all about love and devotion from him.

Danny is survived by his loving wife of almost seventy years, Bessie Lee Turner; daughters LaDonna Bagwell Davis (Keith “Chip”) and Dana Beth Bagwell; grandchildren Keith “Chandler” Davis, Jr. (Julie), Kaitlin Davis Tew (Michael), Brandon Elizabeth Wooten (Dustin), and Dana Logan McMillan (Charles “Chas”); great-grandchildren Dustin Harper Wooten, Easton Brooks McMillan, Maysen Carter McMillan, Daniel Taylor Davis, Whitt Palmer Wooten, Michael Robinson Tew, Jr., Cal Miller Wooten, Grayson William Davis, and Turner Lee Tew.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 2, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Temples-Halloran Funeral Home followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212, with entombment at Bush River Memorial Gardens.

     Aileen Crawford was born on 7 August 1935. As of after 1953,her married name was Bagwell. She married Jackson Harold Bagwell, son of Jackson Voight Bagwell and Lecia Shropshire, after 1953. Aileen Crawford died on 14 June 2019 at age 83. She was buried on 20 June 2019 at Graceland Cemetery West, Greenville, South Carolina.

     Debbie Bagwell is the daughter of Jackson Harold Bagwell and Aileen Crawford. Debbie Bagwell married (?) Peele after 1963.
