Waymon Alfred Bagwell, 83, formerly of Easley, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2012.

Born in Pickens County, a son of the late Arthur and Lillie Jones Bagwell. Mr. Bagwell formely worked for Woodside Mills in Easley , was of the Pentecostal faith, and a veteran of the US Army, having served in the Korean War.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Bagwell was predeceased by four brothers, Dewey, Haskell, Claude and Grady Bagwell; and one sister, Bertha King.

Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 14, 2012 in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends, at the graveside, immediately following the service.

Bagwell, Sr. died Wednesday, April 25, 2012.

Mrs. Bagwell was born on December 5, 1921 to the late Jesse Enoch and Minnie Lou (Mabrey) Crossley, in Spartanburg SC.

She was a 1942 graduate of Spartanburg High School, had retired from Arkwright Mills and was the oldest member of Stone Station Baptist Church.

Mrs. Bagwell is survived by two daughters, Barbara Ann LaBoone (Wayne) of Boiling Springs, Jolene Galloway (Walker) of Moore; two sons, Troy Bagwell Jr. (Elaine) of Roebuck, Billy Bagwell of Roebuck; and a sister, Ruth Gibson of Glendale. She was blessed with 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Bertie Mae Blackwell, Mary Crossley, and a brother, JB Crossley.

The family received friends 1:00-2:00 PM, Friday, April 27, 2012 at Dunbar Funeral Home. A funeral service followed in the chapel at 2:00 PM conducted by the Rev. Rob Gouge and Rev. Tim Hackett.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials could be made to Stone Station Baptist Church; 121 Walnut Grove Ln., Roebuck, SC 29376

Mrs. Jewell Elizabeth Griffin Bagwell, age 86, died peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Vessie Monroe Bagwell, who preceded her in death in April, 2000.

Mrs. Bagwell was born September 2, 1928 in Lancaster, SC, a daughter of the late Viola Warren Griffin and Charles Griffin. She was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Bagwell was a textile worker with Clifton Manufacturing Company until the mills closed. She continued to work part-time in the deli at Ingles until retirement.

She is survived by one daughter, Lynda Loving and husband, Pat of Covington, VA; a son, Ronnie Bagwell and wife, Peggy of Clifton, a daughter-in-law, Wanda Bagwell of Cowpens, a sister, Florence Cromer of Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Crystal McKinney Meadows and husband Paul, Heath Bagwell and wife Tina, Michael McKinney, Brad Bagwell, Matt Bagwell, Melissa Van Emon, Lisa Burnette, Ann Leroy and Scott Teal; 16 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Vessie Bagwell, she was preceded in death by a son, Roger Dale Bagwell in November 2014, a great grandson, Jacob Tucker Bagwell and a sister, Doris McManus.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by Pastor Tim Hackett, Pastor David Frost, and Pastor John Howle. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 1955 Cannons Campground Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Heath Bagwell, Michael McKinney, Brad Bagwell, Matt Bagwell, A.J. Bagwell, and Paul Meadows.

The family will receive friends prior to the service at 11:00 – 11:45 AM. At other times, the family will be at the Bagwell home, located at 171 S. Middle Street, Clifton, SC 29307.

A native of Spartanburg County, he was the husband of Francis Will Bagwell and son of the late William H. and Mabel Bagwell. He was retired from Jefferson Pilot Life Insurance Company and a member of Boiling Springs First Baptist Church.

Also surviving are a daughter, Sandra Chapman of Boiling Springs; a foster daughter, Leisa Ann Long of Spartanburg; two sons, Jami and Robbie Bagwell of the home; four sisters, Nellie B. Condrey, Violet B. Ivey and Mary B. McCarter of Inman and Lois B. Reece of Greeneville; a brother, Gerald Bagwell of Inman; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one foster grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 7-9 tonight at Forest Lawn Mortuary in Boiling Springs. Services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Boiling Springs First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Springhill Memorial Gardens in Chesnee.
