She died at 3:50 a.m. Tuesday at Western Baptist Hospital.
Mrs. Griffith taught in the Ballard County School System for 15 years before retiring and also volunteered for the Western Baptist Hospital Auxiliary for 12 years.
She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years.
Surviving are one son, Barry Griffith of West Paducah; three sisters, Thelma Wyatt, Ophie Vance and Pauline Burrows, all of Paducah; and one brother, Willard Bagwell of Union City, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Griffith; two sisters; and one brother. Her parents were Merritt Bagwell and Ironia McReynolds Bagwell.1

In her retired years, she kept her grandkids (which she dearly loved), played golf, was an avid Bridge player, helped her husband Perry on the farm, and traveled the country and the world. She loved to paint, write, play games, and dance. She was always ready for anything! To know Betty was to love her!
