BATESBURG- Sara Bagwell, 77, passed away Friday, September 14, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon Monday, September 17, at B-L Congregational Holiness Church with burial in Mt. Ebal Church Cemetery with Rev. Virgil Bagwell officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon before the service at the church. Active pallbearers will be Timothy Rice, Marty Bagwell, Chris Jones, Derrick Steele, David Byrd, and Chris "Slim" Jones. Mrs. Bagwell was born in Batesburg, SC, daughter of the late James and Leona Goff Gunter. She was married to the late Donald Eugene Bagwell and her late first husband, Harvell Steele. She was a home maker and retired from Rice Manufacturing Plant where she was a seamstress. She attended B-L Congregational Holiness Church. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffery H. Bagwell of Batesburg; Greg (Lisa) Bagwell of Batesburg; Keith (Mary) Milles of Gilbert; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda (Gene) Davis of Graniteville; step-daughter, Pamela Bagwell of Leesville; sister, Veronica Padgett of Batesburg; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, James "Bill" Gunter, Jr; and half-brother, David Gunter. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to B-L Congregational Holiness Church, 147 Dickert Drive, Batesburg, SC 29006. Milton Shealy Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
