Jessica Annettia Bagwell, 52, of Salisbury, Maryland, was born at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, Delaware. She departed this life on Thursday, November 5, 2020, at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional in Salisbury.

Jessica attended Cape Elementary School in Millsboro, Delaware. She moved to Salisbury and attended East Salisbury Elementary School, Wicomico Middle School, and Wicomico Senior High School, from where she graduated.

In 1986, she became a city police officer and was an officer for a number of years. She also worked at the District Court. Her final job was at the Maryland Department of Agriculture, where she was a secretary and did payroll, before becoming ill.

Jessica was a member of St. James A.M.E. Zion Church where she served as a class leader and member of Feet to the Street, an outreach program. She had a passion for outreach.

She will be lovingly remembered by: her husband of 19 years, Brian E. Bagwell; two children, Dennis Roelke and Alisha (Bryan) Smart; her mother, Ellen Oney Thompson; two sisters, Carolyn Waller and Maxine Thompson; two brothers, Clifton and Dennis (Yolanda) Thompson; three grandchildren, Bryan “Nuk” Smart, Jr., Braylen “Bud” Smart, and Bri’Anna “Butterfly” Smart; several bonus siblings, godchildren, and god-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, in-laws, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Saunders.

Mrs. Bagwell will lie in repose on Saturday, November 14, 2020, from 10 to 11 AM at St. James A.M.E. Zion Church, 521 Mack Avenue, Salisbury. The funeral service will begin at 11 AM.      Deborah Irene Harper was born on 23 December 1955 in Louisiana. As of before 1975,her married name was Bagwell. She married Melvin Russell Bagwell Jr., son of Melvin Russell "Buck" Bagwell and Geraldine Ridge, before 1975. Deborah Irene Harper died on 6 April 2012 in Alexandria, Rapides Parish, Louisiana, at age 56


Mrs. Deborah Powers, age 56 of Jonesboro, died Friday, April 6, 2012 at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria following a brief illness.

Friends may visit with the family 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Southern Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Full Gospel Christian Center, 207 W 7th Street, Jonesboro, La. with Reverend Eric McBride officiating. Interment will be at Harper Cemetery in Saline.

Mrs. Powers is survived by her husband, Tommy Powers, Jr; son, Jeff Bagwell; brothers, Julius Harper and wife Rebecca, David Harper; sisters, Mary Cole and husband Robert, Elizabeth Johnson and husband Marlon; a host of neices, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Powers was preceded in death by her parents, Francis Benjamin Harper and Irene (Patterson) Harper; son, Greg Bagwell; brother, Carlton Harper; sister, Cordillia Harper, Ruby Burns.

Pallbearers are, Julius Francis Harper, Jr, Joe Harper, John Barber, Thomas Poole, Tommy Cole and Dawn Sims.

Geraldine Ridge lived in 2020 in Homer, Louisiana. She died on 4 November 2022 in Shreveport, Caddo Parish, Louisiana, at age 80


Geraldine Ridge Bagwell, age 80, peacefully passed away on November 4, 2022, in Shreveport, Louisiana following a brief illness. A private ceremony will be held to spread Gerry’s ashes in her beloved hometown of Hickory Tavern, South Carolina. Gerry and her family moved from Laurens, South Carolina to Ruston, Louisiana in 1968. Gerry loved the outdoors and spending time working in her yard on Lake Claiborne. She enjoyed living a simple life at home playing her piano. Gerry loved reminiscing about her childhood, her heritage and visiting with her family. She was always up for telling stories over a cup of coffee and a "Little Debbie" cake. She was preceded in death by her father Wayne Washington Ridge, mother Maggie Turner Ridge, brother Warren Burrell Ridge, and sister Emily Ridge Smeal. She is survived by her treasured sons Russell Bagwell (Lane), Tim Bagwell (Kristina), and Travis Bagwell. Known as “Grandma Gerry” she has four grandchildren, Haley Bagwell Lewis (Morgan), Brandon Parker Bagwell, Maggie Bagwell Bell (Andrew), and Mollie Kay Bagwell. Gerry is survived by her sister Barbara Ridge Elgin, brother Gary Wayne Ridge, sister Susan Ridge Schofield and numerous loving nieces, nephews, and cousins from the Turner/Ridge Families in South Carolina. The family would like to thank the CHRISTUS Highland Medical Center nurses, doctors, and hospice for their care and compassion.

Maranda Nicole “Nikki” Bagwell married (?) Shelton before 2010. Maranda Nicole “Nikki” Bagwell died on 22 May 2010 at age 35. She was buried at Lakeview Cemetery, Lake Arthur, Jefferson Davis Parish, Louisiana.

     (?) Shelton married Maranda Nicole “Nikki” Bagwell, daughter of Paul Bagwell and Geneva (?), before 2010.

     Marcus Bagwell is the son of Maranda Nicole “Nikki” Bagwell.

     Angelle Bagwell is the daughter of Maranda Nicole “Nikki” Bagwell.

     Casey Bagwell is the daughter of Maranda Nicole “Nikki” Bagwell.

     Donnie Ray Bagwell was born on 16 March 1949 in Port Lavaca, Calhoun County, Texas. He was the son of Ray Armester Bagwell and Clara Bell Carter. Donnie Ray Bagwell married Beulah F. Hart in 1971 at Randolph County, Arkansas. Donnie Ray Bagwell died on 14 June 2025 in Maynard, Randolph County, Arkansas, at age 76


Donnie Ray Bagwell, 76, of Maynard passed away Saturday, June 14, 2025 at his home surrounded by family.

He was born March 16, 1949 in Port Lavaca, Texas to Ray and Clara Belle Bagwell. He was the youngest of his siblings.

After a short stent in the Air Force, Donnie began working on the river and worked through the ranks to become a respected river boat Captain, from which he eventually retired. Although he was very successful in his career, his greatest sense of pride was of his two daughters.

Donnie was an avid lover of the outdoors and enjoyed life by traveling, camping, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. He loved teaching others to fish and to take them on memory making adventures. His love for the outdoors and nature was only surpassed by the love he had for his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Clara Bagwell; and sisters, Kathy McQuay and Lurline Brown.

Donnie is survived by his wife of 54 years, Beulah Bagwell; daughters, Cheyenne (Derek) Kildow of Pocahontas and Andrea (Jesse) Luffman of Maynard; four grandchildren, Madison, Emily, Carley, and Drake; two sisters-in-law, Regina (Dave) Byers and Rhonda Hart; and a brother-in-law, Robert Wayland Brooks. He also has many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 19, 2025 from 11 AM – 1PM in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with a funeral service beginning at 1 PM with Tyler Emery officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Maynard Cemetery.

     Beulah F. Hart married Donnie Ray Bagwell, son of Ray Armester Bagwell and Clara Bell Carter, in 1971 at Randolph County, Arkansas.

     Lurline Bagwell was born on 18 October 1946 in Goose Creek, Harris County, Texas. She was the daughter of Ray Armester Bagwell and Clara Bell Carter. As of after 1955,her married name was Brown. Lurline Bagwell married Paul Dean Brown after 1955. Lurline Bagwell died on 18 March 2022 in Pocahontas, Randolph County, Arkansas, at age 75. She was buried at Markham Cemetery, Lawrence County, Arkansas.
