     Morris Burton Bagwell is the son of Andrew Burton Bagwell and Nina Pace. Morris Burton Bagwell married Diana June Stokes on 4 September 1966 at Hendersonville, Henderson County, North Carolina.

     Diana June Stokes was born on 28 January 1945 in Hendersonville, Henderson County, North Carolina. As of 4 September 1966,her married name was Bagwell. She married Morris Burton Bagwell, son of Andrew Burton Bagwell and Nina Pace, on 4 September 1966 at Hendersonville, Henderson County, North Carolina. Diana June Stokes died on 30 October 2024 in Columbus, Polk County, North Carolina, at age 79


Diana June Stokes Bagwell passed away on October 30, 2024, at Tryon Estates in Columbus, N.C. She was born January 28, 1945, in Hendersonville, NC to the late Kathryn Flanagan Stokes and Roderick Woodrow "Pete" Stokes.
She attended the first through 12th grades on the Hendersonville High School Campus. After attending Pheiffer College for two years she transferred to Western Carolina University, graduating with a degree in biology and education in 1976. She earned a master's degree at UNC Charlotte in 1977.
Her career with Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools was as a biology teacher, assistant principal, elementary school principal and middle school principal. After retirement she returned to work at CMS as Director of the Professional Development Center and then as an Assistant Superintendent. In retirement she served as adjunct professor at Furman University and the University of South Carolina at Spartanburg. She cared deeply for all the teachers and students she stewarded.
Diana felt a close connection to the First United Methodist Church in Hendersonville although she and Morris attended church at other locations over the years. She was baptized there, grew up there, married there and returned there when she could.
Diana is survived by her husband and soulmate of 58 years Morris Bagwell, her son Steven Jeffrey Bagwell and his wife Maria Brown Bagwell. She was a devoted "Nana" to her granddaughters Natalie London Bagwell and McKenzie Jean Bagwell who she loved dearly. She is also survived by a brother, Roderick Woodrow Stokes, "Waddy," and his wife Martha Stokes, a nephew Strider Stokes and wife Shannon.
A memorial service will be held at Tryon Estates at a later date. Donations may be made to the charity of choice or to Blue Ridge Community College, AAUW Legacy of Leadership Award Fund, BRCC Educational Foundation, 180 W. Campus Dr, Flat Rock, NC28731.
The family would like to thank the staff at Pardee Hospital Cancer Center, Spartanburg Regional Hospital and the nursing care center at Tryon Estates for the loving care shown to Diana.

     Millie Bagwell was born on 15 May 1885 in Montgomery County, Tennessee. She was the daughter of Watt M. Bagwell and Ella Johnson. As of 1902,her married name was Manson. Millie Bagwell married Ephriam Manson in 1902. Millie Bagwell died on 20 February 1956 in Clarksville, Montgomery County, Tennessee, at age 70. She was buried on 24 February 1956 at Dotsonville, Clarksville, Montgomery County, Tennessee.

     Judith Bagwell was born in May 1886 in Tennessee. She was the daughter of Watt M. Bagwell and Ella Johnson. As of 1903,her married name was Ogburn. Judith Bagwell married Bradley Ogburn in 1903 at Montgomery County, Tennessee. Judith Bagwell lived in 1920 in Earlington, Hopkins County, Kentucky. She died on 17 October 1937 in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana, at age 51. She was buried on 20 October 1937 at Floral Park Cemetery, Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana.

     Ella Bagwell was born in July 1888 in Tennesse. She was the daughter of Watt M. Bagwell and Ella Johnson.

     Bradley Ogburn was born in 1882 in Tennessee. He married Judith Bagwell, daughter of Watt M. Bagwell and Ella Johnson, in 1903 at Montgomery County, Tennessee. Bradley Ogburn died on 24 April 1918 in Earlington, Hopkins County, Kentucky. He was buried at Barnsley Cemetery, Barnsley, Hopkins County, Kentucky.

     Ephriam Manson was born on 25 December 1877 in Tennessee. He married Millie Bagwell, daughter of Watt M. Bagwell and Ella Johnson, in 1902. Ephriam Manson died on 22 September 1948 in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee, at age 70. He was buried at Haynes Chapel, Rutherford County, Tennessee.

     Eudora Lizzie Bagwell was born circa 1865 in Cheatham County, Tennessee. She was the daughter of Watt Bagwell. As of after 1883,her married name was Blanton. Eudora Lizzie Bagwell married William Carroll Blanton after 1883. Eudora Lizzie Bagwell died on 18 April 1943 in Montgomery County, Tennessee. She was buried on 20 April 1943 at Stewart Cemetery, Cheatham County, Tennessee.

     William Carroll Blanton married Eudora Lizzie Bagwell, daughter of Watt Bagwell, after 1883.

     W. A. Hooper married Virginia Bagwell, daughter of John W. Bagwell and Martha Brown, on 1 February 1866 at Montgomery County, Tennessee.

     Ellen (?) was born circa 1839 in Alabama. As of before 1860,her married name was Bagwell. She married Unknown Bagwell before 1860.

     Unknown Bagwell was born circa 1835. He married Ellen (?) before 1860.

     Catie Bagwell was born circa 1860 in Alabama. She was the daughter of Unknown Bagwell and Ellen (?)

     Jackson Bagwell was born on 5 April 1863 in Alabama. He was the son of Unknown Bagwell and Ellen (?) Jackson Bagwell died on 29 August 1946 in Byrneville, Escambia County, Florida, at age 83. He was buried at Byrneville Methodist Church Cemetery, Byrneville, Escambia County, Florida.
