She was also preceded in death by her husband, Horace Edward Bagwell, on July 24, 1983, by a daughter-in-law, Betty Jo Bagwell, by a son-in-law, Billy Edward Shores, by 2 granddaughters, Jennifer Hope Bagwell and Wendy Michelle Bagwell, by 2 sisters, Cloie Lee Prather and Opal Loretta Brady, by a brother, Buddy Touchstone, and by a step-brother, Milton Langham. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Bagwell worked for a number of years at Kroger West where she was known as "The Little Lady who makes Pizzas." She attended the Armuchee Church of God.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Mrs. Linda Shores, Rome, and Mrs. Judy Bolinger, and her husband, Bobby, Rome; 2 sons, Horace Kenneth Bagwell, Lindale, and Dennis David Bagwell, and his wife, Patricia, Rome; a special niece that she loved like a daughter, Mrs. Lillian Dorris, and her husband, Wesley, Greenbrier, TN; 12 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2013, at 2pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel and Crematory with the Rev. Charles Izell and the Mr. Dennis Dorris officiating. Interment will follow at East View Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel and Crematory, on Friday from 6 until 8pm. At other hours, they may be contacted at the residence of a daughter, Mrs. Judy Bolinger.

Mr. Horace "Kenneth" Bagwell, age 81, of Silver Creek, GA, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at a local hospital.

Kenneth was born on September 5, 1944, in Rome, GA, to the late Horace Edward Bagwell and Eddie Mae Bagwell (formerly Touchstone). In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Betty Jo Bagwell; his daughter, Wendy Bagwell, his brother, David Bagwell, his grandson, Russell Carter; his great-grandchildren, Baby Tucker and Alton Roland II; his brother-in-law, Billy Shores; and his sisters-in-law, Peggy McElwee and Henrietta Gaylor.

Kenneth had an appreciation for the simple things in life and treasured the time he spent fishing with his son, Eric. He was a passionate fan of his favorite teams, never missing a chance to cheer on the Atlanta Braves or root for the Georgia Bulldogs. At home, Kenneth's heart belonged not only to his family but also to his beloved fur baby, Princess, whom he spoiled endlessly. He loved getting out of the house with his family, browsing the car lot or just running errands. When he wasn't spending time with loved ones, Kenneth could often be found watching a good western, his favorite genre of film.

Above all, Kenneth deeply loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. They were the center of his world, and he took pride in being a constant source of support, warmth, and guidance in their lives.

Kenneth will be remembered for his kind heart, his devotion to family, and the quiet, steady love he gave so freely. His memory will live on in the stories shared, the traditions continued, and the lives he touched so deeply.

Survivors include his children, Sherry Jackson (Jerry), Eric Bagwell (Donna), and Tammie Hoover; his sisters Judy Bolinger (Bobby) and Linda Shores, his sisters-in-law, Pat Bagwell and Pat Rowell, his brother-in-law, Eddie McElwee; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog and best friend, Princess.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2026, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel with pastor Jeff Hulsey officiating. Interment will follow at East View Cemetery in Rome, GA.

Dennis David "David" Bagwell, 78, of Rome, Georgia, passed away, surrounded by the love of his family, on Friday, March 13, 2026.

David was born January 11, 1948, in Rome, Georgia, to the late Eddie Mae Bagwell and Horace Edward Bagwell. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Bagwell. He attended West Rome High School. During his younger years he enjoyed playing baseball and the drums, and had a lifelong love for sports, especially football and baseball.

On January 11, 1972, David married the love of his life, Patricia Bagwell. Together they built a life and family, welcoming their first daughter in 1974 followed by four more daughters in the years that followed.

David was a hardworking man who dedicated 37 years of service at Fairbanks, working in the factory until his retirement. He took great pride in providing for his family and often said that if he could have continued working, he would have. Above all else, David was a devoted family man.

David was known for his love of sports and was a devoted Georgia Bulldogs fan. When the games were on, there was no doubt about it-you could hear him cheering and yelling throughout the house. He enjoyed wearing many hats, eating peanuts, scratching off lottery tickets, and treating himself to a good strawberry milkshake. Those who knew him also knew how much he loved aggravating his wife and grandchildren, and how he always made sure his family was safe-even if they had only stepped away for a moment.

David will be remembered as a hardworking man who loved his family deeply and showed that love through the life he built and the memories, he created with those around him.

Though he is no longer with us, Pawpaw's love, laughter, and the memories he created with his family will live on for generations to come. He leaves behind a family who loved him dearly and will forever remember his laughter, his stories, and the unmistakable sound of him yelling at his football games.

David is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Bagwell, and his four daughters, Felicia Breeden, Misty Bagwell, Jessica Bagwell, and Ashley Bagwell. He was a proud grandfather to 10 grandchildren and a cherished great-grandfather to 16 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Linda Shores, Judy Bolinger, and Kenneth Bagwell, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who loved him dearly.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, from 12:00pm until 1:45pm.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, with Pastor Ricky Studdard and Joseph Silver officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.

     Eliza K. Jones was also known as Eleyak Jones. She was born on 16 May 1897 in North Carolina. As of before 1930,her married name was Bagwell. She married Joseph Pinckney Bagwell, son of William Henry Bagwell and Margaret Jane McClary, before 1930. Eliza K. Jones died on 4 December 1981 at age 84. She was buried at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Greenville, Greenville County, South Carolina.

     Joseph Pinckney Bagwell Jr. was born on 8 June 1916 in Greenville, Greenville County, South Carolina.¹ He was the son of Joseph Pinckney Bagwell and Anna Cebelle Timmerman. Joseph Pinckney Bagwell Jr. married Maisie Lucille Horton circa 1940.² Joseph Pinckney Bagwell Jr. died on 10 April 2011 in Rock Hill, York County, South Carolina, at age 94. He was buried at Forest Hills Cemetery, Rock Hill, York County, South Carolina.

     Martha Jean Bagwell is the daughter of Joseph Pinckney Bagwell and Eliza K. Jones. Martha Jean Bagwell married Milton Tiburse Spillers on 14 March 1946 at Greenville, Greenville County, South Carolina.

     Ellen Virginia Bagwell was born on 31 August 1897 in Pelzer, Anderson County, South Carolina.¹ She was the daughter of Joseph Pinckney Bagwell and Anna Cebelle Timmerman. Ellen Virginia Bagwell died on 4 March 1968 in Kannapolis, Cabarrus County, North Carolina, at age 70.¹ She was buried at Carolina Memorial Park, Concord, Cabarrus County, North Carolina.¹

     Cathleen Bagwell is the daughter of Joseph Pinckney Bagwell and Anna Cebelle Timmerman.

     Harold Alec Bagwell was born on 20 August 1903 in Pelham, South Carolina. He was the son of Joseph Pinckney Bagwell and Anna Cebelle Timmerman. Harold Alec Bagwell died in 1976 in Lancaster Memorial Park, Lancaster, Lancaster County, South Carolina.

     Anzie Mary Bagwell was born on 20 March 1905. She was the daughter of Joseph Pinckney Bagwell and Anna Cebelle Timmerman. As of before 1925,her married name was Badger. Anzie Mary Bagwell married Sidney Humphries Badger before 1925. Anzie Mary Bagwell died on 9 October 1999 in South Carolina at age 94. She was buried at Graceland West Cemetery and Mausoleum, Greenville, Greenville County, South Carolina.

Julia Dell Bagwell married Charles Luther Woodham after 1920. Julia Dell Bagwell died on 25 June 1988 in Ozark, Dale County, Alabama, at age 83.

     John Bagwell was born on 8 October 1908. He was the son of James Wiley (Wesley) Bagwell and Josephine Emeline Newton. He was in the US Army during World War II. John Bagwell married Kate L. (?) after 1945. John Bagwell and Kate L. (?) lived in 1955 in Plymouth, Michigan. John Bagwell died on 12 November 1999 in Ozark, Dale County, Alabama, at age 91. He was buried at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Ozark, Dale County, Alabama.

     E. A. Bogan was born in January 1879. He married Tabitha Bagwell, daughter of Willis Marion Bagwell and Inda C. (?), before 1900. E. A. Bogan and Tabitha Bagwell lived in 1900 in Cross Keys, DeKalb County, Georgia. E. A. Bogan died in 1923. He was buried at Hope Cemetery, Henrietta, Clay County, Texas.

     Alta Catherine Holbrook was born on 1 November 1924 in Cumming, Georgia. As of before 1943,her married name was Bagwell. She married Reverend Robert Haldene Bagwell, son of Robert Benjamin Bagwell and Edith Graffie Bagwell, before 1943. Alta Catherine Holbrook died on 12 January 2017 in Georgia at age 92 Alta Catherine Bagwell, age 92, of Cumming, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017. Mrs. Bagwell was born on November 1, 1924, to the late Denester N. “Pete” and Lillian Cecil Dempsey Holbrook. Catherine was a member of Brookwood Baptist Church in Cumming, Georgia. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who enjoyed writing inspirational poems. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Rev. Haldene Bagwell; brothers, Cleveland and Jere Holbrook; and sister, Mildred Barron.

She is survived by one son, two daughters, seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, January 15, 2017, at the Brookwood Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Bennett, Rev. Doug Carnes, and Rev. Donnie Nix officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
