Thompson and Mary Carriginton.¹ As of 21 July 1910,her married name was Poole.¹ Hattie Bell Thompson married Lee Poole, son of James G. Poole and Cebret Anne Bailey, on 21 July 1910.¹ Hattie Bell Thompson died on 14 April 1928 at age 34 of tuberculoise.

     John Wilson Bagwell is the son of Lee Wilson Bagwell Jr. and Vera Dean Delenne.¹ John Wilson Bagwell married Winnie Louise Ramsey circa 1963.

     Douglas O. Bagwell is the son of Lee Wilson Bagwell Jr. and Vera Dean Delenne. Douglas O. Bagwell married Katherine (?) after 1953.

     Mary Lee Critcher was born on 18 October 1908 in Granville County, North Carolina. As of 28 April 1927,her married name was Bagwell. She married Butrow Bryant Bagwell, son of Hardy (Hardie) Bryant Bagwell and Ella Smith, on 28 April 1927 at Pullen Memorial Baptist Church, Raliegh, Wake County, North Carolina. Mary Lee Critcher died on 13 November 1998 in Granville Hospital, Oxford, Granville County, North Carolina, at age 90. She was buried at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, Prince George's County, Maryland.

     John Avery Page married Tessie Irene Bagwell, daughter of Needham Bryant Bagwell Jr. and Ella Caroline Allen, on 30 June 1945 at Wake County, North Carolina.

     Annie Lee Bagwell was born on 15 January 1921 in Wake County, North Carolina. She was the daughter of Connie Bryant Bagwell and Nancy Clyda "Nannie" Woodall. Annie Lee Bagwell died on 12 December 2024 in Gerner, North Carolina, at age 103


Garner - Annie Lee Bagwell, 103, passed away on December 12, 2024. She was born in Wake County to Connie Byrant and Nannie Woodall Bagwell.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 17th at Highland Baptist Church, 8524 Crowder Rd. Raleigh, NC 27603. The family will receive friends from 10:00-10:45 am prior to the service at the church. The burial will follow the service at Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh.

Annie survived Polio at the young age of eleven. She became a member of Highland Baptist Church on November 2, 1980. She loved her church and attended faithfully until she became bedridden earlier this year. She belonged to the Open Door Sunday School class and the Young at Heart Seniors.

Annie loved to travel. Eating out was one of her favorite activities. The Garner Seniors Center was a large part of her life while she lived at Chadwick Senior Living. She loved to play Bingo and visit with her friends at the Senior Center. Annie’s last two and a half years were at Laurels of Forest Glen. She adapted to life there and always had a big smile and “Hello” for everyone who walked past her door.

Annie is survived by nieces, Susan Gardner of Raleigh, Marilyn Fish of Greensboro, and Jean Kelly; nephew, Tim Bagwell; several great nieces and nephews; a number of great-great nieces and nephews; devoted friends, Ellen Anderson, Gloria Fish, Jerry Martin, and Johnny Woodall.

In addition to her parents, Annie is preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Pait, and brother, C.B. Bagwell.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Highland Baptist Church, 8524 Crowder Road, Raleigh, NC 27603 in memory of Annie.


She was buried on 17 December 2024 at Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh, North Carolina.

     Samuel Thomas Doyel was born on 17 December 1854 in Scott County, Arkansas. He married Alemeda Bagwell, daughter of Martin S. Bagwell and Susanna Feasle, after 1875. Samuel Thomas Doyel died on 3 October 1899 in Georgia at age 44. He was buried at Doyel Cemetery, Waldron, Scott County, Georgia.
