     Susan McDonald was born on 4 April 1842 in Harrison County, West Virginia. As of after 1860,her married name was Goff. She married Justus Simon Goff after 1860. Susan McDonald died on 5 September 1920 at age 78. She was buried at Goffs Cemetery, Ritchie County, West Virginia.

     William Calvin Brice married Winnie Davis Turner on 16 April 1919 at Coffee County, Alabama.

     Edward Franklin Price was born on 18 September 1867 in Hawridge, Alabama. He was the son of John Price and Sarah Jane Engram. Edward Franklin Price died in December 1962 in Pinellas County, Florida, at age 95.

     James E. Sudduth was born on 4 September 1934. He married Eugenia Bagwell, daughter of Parker George Bagwell and Myrtle Clark, after 1956. James E. Sudduth died on 29 August 2003 in South Carolina at age 68.

     Sandra Wynell “Nell” Bagwell was born on 21 December 1938 in Abbeville County, South Carolina. She was the daughter of James Henry Bagwell and Marguerite Rebecca Perkins. Ware Shoals – Sandra Wynell “Nell” Bagwell Simpson, 87, wife of Roy C. Simpson, formerly of Harmony Church Road, died Saturday, January 31, 2026 in Greenville.

Born in Abbeville County, she was a daughter of the late James Henry and Marguerite Perkins Bagwell. She was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church and was retired from Grimes Aerospace. She formerly attended Calvary Baptist Church. She was twice married, first to the late Garrett Briggs.

Surviving are her husband, Roy, of Ware Shoals, two step-sons, Elroy Simpson of Ware Shoals and Lamar Simpson (Nancy) of Greenville, a step-daughter, Fay Sprouse (Billy) of Ware Shoals, three sisters, Harriett Sims (Jerry) of Greenwood, Judy Davis of Ware Shoals, and Beckey Phillips (Ronnie) of Princeton, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, February 5, 2026 in the Chapel Mausoleum at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Janice Hughey and Rev. Bill Rogers officiating. The family is at their respective homes. Online condolences may be made at www.ParkerWhitePruitt.com.

     Mary Bettye Johnson was born on 24 September 1932 in Ware Shoals, Greenwood County, South Carolina. As of 22 May 1950,her married name was Bagwell. She married Reverend / Sgt. Major Joseph Leo Bagwell, son of Reverend Ralph Leo Bagwell and Ruby Lee Lindley, on 22 May 1950 at Edgefield, South Carolina. Mary Bettye Johnson died on 7 February 1984 in Largo, Pinellas County, Florida, at age 51. She was buried at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Hodges, Greenwood County, South Carolina.

     Ronald Perry Bagwell Sr. was born on 18 January 1954 in Greenwood, South Carolina. He was the son of Reverend / Sgt. Major Joseph Leo Bagwell and Mary Bettye Johnson. Ronald Perry Bagwell Sr. married Carolyn Mims after 1974. Ronald Perry Bagwell Sr. died on 3 February 2026 in Augusta, Georgia, at age 72


Ronald Perry Bagwell, Sr. entered into his eternal rest on Tuesday, February 03, 2026. Born in Greenwood, SC on January 18, 1954 to Joseph Leo Bagwell and Mary Betty Johnson Bagwell, the family then moved to Augusta, GA when Perry was still a young child. He was the oldest of 3 sons.


The funeral arrangements are being handled by Chance & Hydrick with the visitation to be held Monday, February 16, 2026 from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. The funeral service will be Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at noon in the Chapel at Chance & Hydrick and the family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow immediately after at Hephzibah Vance Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers are Joseph Bagwell, Joseph Hall, William Hooker, Jr., Guy Quattlebaum, Luke Quattlebaum, and Cody Goodman. Honorary pallbearers are Danny Hooker, Sr. and Andy Cromer.

Due to his father's military career, the family resided in multiple locations but Perry graduated from Hephzibah High School in 1973 after helping the Rebels win the 1972 State Baseball Championship which remains the only men's State Championship title held by the Rebels to this day. Upon graduating, he was offered multiple sports scholarships by various colleges and chose to attend Brewton Parker College. In 1976 he followed in his father's and grandfather's footsteps and joined the army. After enlisting at Fort Jackson, he was stationed at Fort Gordon but was deployed twice to Germany and once to Turkey. After returning from Germany the second time with his family, he was stationed at Fort Riley, KS. From there he was deployed to Saudi Arabia and Iraq during Operation Desert Storm. During that conflict, he became a Purple Heart recipient due to being severely injured. He then finished his active military career in Fort Riley, KS and retired as a First Sergeant upon which he returned home to Augusta, GA where he lived out the remainder of his days.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Betty Johnson Bagwell; his father, Joseph Leo Bagwell; his step-mother, Shirley Black Bagwell; and his younger brother, Samuel Leo Bagwell. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Carolyn Mims Bagwell; his children Ronald Perry Bagwell, Jr., Joshua Heath Bagwell, Kayla (Joseph) Hall, Bill (Julie) Quattlebaum, and Cathy (David) Hough; and his grandchildren Connor, Silas, C.J., Guy, Luke, Eve, Eden, and Eli along with extended family and many friends.
Perry excelled at all things outdoors and sports and continued playing baseball throughout college and on into the military. He played in a couple of church leagues, coached several women's teams, and enjoyed coaching his sons and their friends during their baseball days. He was never happier than when he was out hunting, fishing, or watching a favorite western. He was a faithful and loyal friend and took many a person under his wing to care for.
