     Gertrude Rosetta Cook was born on 9 March 1915 in Portland, Indiana.¹ As of after 1930,her married name was Bagwell. She married Master Sergeant Bernard Emil Bagwell, son of William Monroe Bagwell and Mary Helen Walter, on 1 January 1943 at Iammaculate Conception Catholic Church, Jacksonville, Florida.² Gertrude Rosetta Cook died on 10 September 2002 at age 87.¹ She was buried at Saint Marys Cemetery, Mount Carmel, Wabash County, Illinois.¹

     John Thomas Bagwell was born circa 1816 in Crab Orchard, Lincoln County, Kentucky.¹ He was the son of Unknown Bagwell. John Thomas Bagwell married Drucilla Sproule before 1839. He was listed as a blacksmith on the 1850 US Census. John Thomas Bagwell and Drucilla Sproule lived in 1850 in District 10, Jefferson County, Illinois.¹

     Drucilla Sproule was also known as Drucilla Sprouse. She was born on 18 July 1815 in Kentucky.¹ As of before 1839,her married name was Bagwell. She married John Thomas Bagwell, son of Unknown Bagwell, before 1839. Drucilla Sproule and John Thomas Bagwell lived in 1850 in District 10, Jefferson County, Illinois.² Drucilla Sproule died on 14 June 1875 at age 59.¹ She was buried at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Mount Vernon, Jefferson County, Illinois.¹

     John A. Bagwell was born circa 1839 in Illinois.¹ He was the son of John Thomas Bagwell and Drucilla Sproule.

     Charles Bell married Sarah F. L. Bagwell, daughter of John Thomas Bagwell and Drucilla Sproule, in 1861.

     William Thomas Bagwell was born on 29 December 1844 in Mount Vernon, Illinois.^1,2 He was the son of John Thomas Bagwell and Drucilla Sproule. William Thomas Bagwell married an unknown person on 18 October 1880 at Marion, Illinois. He married Amanda Piatta Hayes on 18 October 1880 at Marion County, Illinois. He was a police officer in Centralia, Illinios. William Thomas Bagwell died on 13 February 1920 in Centralia, Marion County, Illinois, at age 75.^2,3 He was buried at Elmwood Cemetery, Centralia, Marion County, Illinois.²

     Amanda Piatta Hayes was born on 15 May 1850 in Memphis, Tennessee.¹ As of 18 October 1880,her married name was Bagwell. She married William Thomas Bagwell, son of John Thomas Bagwell and Drucilla Sproule, on 18 October 1880 at Marion County, Illinois. Amanda Piatta Hayes died on 4 April 1942 in Marion County, Illinois, at age 91.¹ She was buried at Elmwood Cemetery, Centralia, Marion County, Illinois.¹

     Charles Oliver Bagwell was also known as Oliver Bagwell. He was born on 24 July 1882 in Illinois. He was the son of William Thomas Bagwell and Amanda Piatta Hayes. Charles Oliver Bagwell married Mary Edwards on 4 June 1901 at Clinton County, Illinois. Charles Oliver Bagwell died on 29 March 1926 in West Helena, Phillips County, Arkansas, at age 43. He was buried at Prichett Cemetery, Boulder, Clinton County, Illinois.

     Mary Florence Bagwell was born circa 1847 in Illinois.¹ She was the daughter of John Thomas Bagwell and Drucilla Sproule. As of 10 September 1873,her married name was Feyhl. Mary Florence Bagwell married Charles A. Feyhl on 10 September 1873 at Marion County, Illinois. Mary Florence Bagwell died on 11 August 1891 in Boston, Massachusetts.

     Nancy Jane Bagwell was born on 30 July 1855 in Jefferson County, Illinois. She was the daughter of John Thomas Bagwell and Drucilla Sproule. As of 23 June 1878,her married name was McCawley. Nancy Jane Bagwell married Arthur H. McCawley on 23 June 1878 at Clay County, Illinois. Nancy Jane Bagwell died on 21 December 1932 in Marion County, Illinois, at age 77. She was buried at Elmwood Cemetery, Centralia, Marion County, Illinois.

     Arthur H. McCawley was born in May 1857 in Illinois. He married Nancy Jane Bagwell, daughter of John Thomas Bagwell and Drucilla Sproule, on 23 June 1878 at Clay County, Illinois.

     Henry Angel was born on 27 June 1871 in Wilmington, New Hanover County, North Carolina. He married Grace Laneta Bagwell, daughter of Smith W. Bagwell and Nancy Drucilla Harmon, after 1900. Henry Angel died on 10 August 1939 in Salem, Marion County, Illinois, at age 68.

     Lavena Krutsinger was born on 18 May 1922.¹ As of 1941,her married name was Bagwell. She married Jesse Lee Bagwell, son of Jesse Marion Bagwell and Mary Ellen Whaley, in 1941.² Lavena Krutsinger died on 1 April 2003 at age 80.¹ She was buried at Elder Cemetery, Kinmundy, Marion County, Illinois.¹

     Edna Sligh was born on 2 September 1913 in Waco, McLennan County, Texas. As of 1942,her married name was Bagwell. She married Ewell Hayden Bagwell, son of Thoms Belton Bagwell Sr and Katherine Louise Kennedy, in 1942. Edna Sligh died on 9 January 2010 at age 96 Edna Sligh Bagwell, 96, passed away Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010.

Edna Bagwell was born Sept. 2, 1913, in Waco. She received her degree in education from North Texas State University. She was a longtime, much-loved and respected elementary teacher in the Fort Worth school system, where she taught the grandchildren of many of her former students. Her first teaching job was in a two-room school in Hay Branch. Edna also taught in the Waco State Home and the School for the Blind in Austin. In 1942, prior to marrying her late husband, Ewell H. Bagwell, she returned to teaching. Edna was a longtime member of Ridglea Baptist Church and also was a member of the Fort Worth Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, James E. and Mary Sligh of Temple; sister, Gladys Martin, of Temple; and niece, Mozelle Morrison, of Alpine.
Survivors: Niece, Margarette Covington, of Houston; and grandnephews, Phillip Covington, of Houston, Lawrence Morrison, of Fort Worth and Sammy Morrison, of Midland.

     Ben Terrell Bagwell was born on 17 July 1904. He was the son of William King Bagwell and Allie Terrell. Ben Terrell Bagwell married Nona Kirkpatrick in 1927. Ben Terrell Bagwell died on 11 July 1956 at age 51. He was buried at Willow Cemetery, Haskell, Haskell County, Texas.

     Joy Reaves Bagwell was born on 15 May 1899 in Texas. He was the son of William King Bagwell and Allie Terrell. Joy Reaves Bagwell married Mattye Graves Blacklock on 1 March 1925 at Texas. Joy Reaves Bagwell died on 15 January 1961 at age 61. He was buried at Resthaven Memorial Park, Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas.

     Mattye Graves Blacklock was born on 30 March 1894 in Hamilton County, Texas. As of 1 March 1925,her married name was Bagwell. She married Joy Reaves Bagwell, son of William King Bagwell and Allie Terrell, on 1 March 1925 at Texas. Mattye Graves Blacklock died on 14 February 1966 in Lubbock County, Texas, at age 71. She was buried at Resthaven Memorial Park, Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas.

     Allie Terrell was born on 13 April 1878. As of 4 August 1895,her married name was Bagwell. She married William King Bagwell, son of John Madison Bagwell and Louise Eveline Burton, on 4 August 1895 at Hill County, Texas. Allie Terrell died on 8 July 1905 at age 27. She was buried at Fariview Cemetery, Tuxedo, Jones County, Texas.

     Lavon William Bagwell was also known as William Lavon Bagwell. He was born on 22 December 1930 in Bovina, Parmer County, Texas. He was the son of William Leroy Bagwell and Ina Pearl Ashcroft. Lavon William Bagwell married Olive Jean Phillips before 1949. He served in the US Army from 10 September 1953 to 31 January 1973. Lavon William Bagwell died on 15 July 1998 in Lake Como, Putnam County, Florida, at age 67.

     Virginia B. Griffiis was born on 3 August 1938. As of 23 August 1957,her married name was Bagwell. She married Elbert Dean Bagwell, son of William Leroy Bagwell and Ina Pearl Ashcroft, on 23 August 1957 at Los Angeles, California. Virginia B. Griffiis died on 5 February 2001 in Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona, at age 62.

     Carl Nealon Bagwell was born on 5 December 1934 in Zita, Texas. He was the son of William Leroy Bagwell and Ina Pearl Ashcroft. Carl Nealon Bagwell married Vernice Sharp after 1950. Carl Nealon Bagwell died on 9 July 2020 at age 85


Carl Nealon Bagwell of Laurel, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at the age of 85.
Mr. Bagwell was born in Zita, Texas on December 5, 1934 to William Leroy Bagwell and Ina Pearl Ashcraft Bagwell. He was retired from the Unites States Army after 25 years of service, ending his career as a Command Sergeant Major. He was a resident of the Shady Grove Community since 1978.
His wife of 53 years, Vernice Sharp Bagwell preceded him in death on September 3, 2009.
He leaves behind nieces and nephews and one special friend, Mr. Bob.
Graveside services will be held at Lake Park Hills Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2020.
Pallbearers will be Raymond Smith, Terry Firment, Charles Hollingshead, and family members.

She died on 18 January 2015 in Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, at age 85.

     Francis R. Thompson was also known as Francis Caldwell. She was born in February 1862 in Tennessee.¹ As of 1891,her married name was Bagwell. She married Jacob Bagwell, son of Henry Bagwell and Lucy Thompson, in 1891. Francis R. Thompson and Jacob Bagwell appeared on the 1900 United States Federal Census for 15th District, Montgomery County, Tennessee, enumerated on 15 June 1900.¹ Francis R. Thompson died on 7 October 1957 in Tennessee at age 95. She was buried on 12 October 1957 at Greenwood Cemetery, Clarksville, Montgomery County, Tennessee.

     Almeda Jean Bagwell was born in June 1892 in Tennessee.¹ She was the daughter of Jacob Bagwell and Francis R. Thompson.¹ Almeda Jean Bagwell appeared on the 1900 United States Federal Census for 15th District, Montgomery County, Tennessee, enumerated on 15 June 1900.¹
