     Bennett Wall was born in 1838 in Johnston County, North Carolina. He married Catherine B. Bagwell, daughter of William Dosie Bagwell and Martha Poole, on 8 February 1866 at Wake County, North Carolina. Bennett Wall died on 26 December 1908 in Wake County, North Carolina.

     Sidney A. Williams was born in 1845 in Wake County, North Carolina. He married Catherine B. Bagwell, daughter of William Dosie Bagwell and Martha Poole, on 26 December 1860 at Wake County, North Carolina. He served in the 26th Infantry, Company D, North Carolina for the Confederate States of America during the Civil War. Sidney A. Williams died on 12 July 1862 in Fort Columbus, New York, died of disease as a prisoner of war during the Civil War.

     Hansel Poole was born in 1844. He married Martha H. Bagwell, daughter of William Dosie Bagwell and Martha Poole, after 1855. Hansel Poole died in 1925.

     Elexus Nikole Birchum married Douglas Austin Bagwell, son of Jeffrey Ray Bagwell, after 2017.

     Maggie Ann Bagwell is the daughter of David Ray Bagwell and Lisa Ann Daniel.

     Dewey Grafton Preston was born on 22 November 1908 in Gordonsville, Tennessee. He married Floy Virginia Bagwell, daughter of Claude Edward Bagwell and Jessie Clyde Peeler, before 1940. Dewey Grafton Preston died on 3 November 1946 in Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina, at age 37.

     Bernice Dowell Haynes was born on 8 November 1918 in Gordonsville, Tennessee. He married Floy Virginia Bagwell, daughter of Claude Edward Bagwell and Jessie Clyde Peeler, after 1940. Bernice Dowell Haynes died on 30 August 1992 in Centennial Medical Center, Nashville, Tennessee, at age 73.

     Betty Louise Alexander was born on 19 November 1946 in Pickens County, South Carolina.¹ As of 7 August 1965,her married name was Bagwell.¹ She married Ernest Wayne Bagwell, son of Sethie Joe Calvin Bagwell and Mary Louise Swords, on 7 August 1965.¹ Betty Louise Alexander and Ernest Wayne Bagwell were divorced in 1974.¹ Betty Louise Alexander died in 2024.¹

     Monroe Revis was born in 1907 in South Carolina.¹ He married Mary Louise Swords circa 1923.¹ Monroe Revis died in 1936.¹

     Monroe Revis Jr. was born in 1934.¹ He was the son of Monroe Revis and Mary Louise Swords.¹ He was a Korean War veteran.¹ Monroe Revis Jr. died in 2015.¹

     Reuben B. Revis was born in 1932.¹ He was the son of Monroe Revis and Mary Louise Swords.¹ He was a Korean War veteran.¹ Reuben B. Revis died in 2012.¹

     David Henry Pressley was born on 20 November 1917 in Pickens County, South Carolina.¹ He married Annie Laura Bagwell, daughter of George Adolphus Bagwell and Emma Jane Pace, before 3 April 1940.¹ David Henry Pressley died on 28 April 1945 at age 27 He was killed in action (KIA) at Okinawa, Japan invasion while serving as a Coxswain aboard the USS Pinkney, US Navy, WW II. His body was recovered after being blown off his ship by a strike from a kamikaze plane. His remains were returned to South Carolina 4 years later.¹

     Pete Malaga was born on 17 July 1918.¹ He served as a Sergeant 1st Class, US Army during World War II. He was at the landing at Omaha Beach during D-Day and also served in North Africa.¹ He married Annie Laura Bagwell, daughter of George Adolphus Bagwell and Emma Jane Pace, after 1948.¹ Pete Malaga died on 20 July 2007 in Columbia, Richland County, South Carolina, at age 89.¹ He was buried on 23 July 2007 at Greenlawn Serenity Gardens, Columbia, Richland County, South Carolina.

     Elise Underwood was born on 19 May 1914. As of after 1933,her married name was Bagwell. She married Sam Lee Bagwell, son of George Adolphus Bagwell and Emma Jane Pace, after 1933. Elise Underwood died on 8 November 2008 at age 94. She was buried at Greenlawn Cemetery, Union Point, Greene County, Georgia.

William Bagwell Obituary
William Gary Bagwell, 79, of Oakwood, GA, passed away peacefully in his home on August 22, 2026 after an extended illness.

Born on June 15, 1947, Gary was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and educator. He was married to his beloved wife, Patricia (Millwood) Bagwell, since 1971—a loving partnership of 55 years.

Gary was raised on a working chicken farm and began farming at a young age. Although he chose not to make farming his career, he went on to hold many interesting jobs. He served in the United States Army and spent 2 years living on an army base in Germany. He was the events coordinator at the Georgia Mountains Center for several years but, finally settled on being an educator school teacher. He dedicated his professional life to educating and guiding young people. He was a faithful member and deacon of Flat Creek Baptist Church, where he served the congregation with quiet commitment and a servant’s heart.

Gary loved music, especially singing and directing church choirs. He served as minister of music at Flat Creek Baptist Church for eight years. What began as an interim role continued for eight years. After retiring from education, he founded a senior adult choir aptly named “The Golden Chorale.” Leading the choir was his passion, and until just a few weeks before his passing, he was working diligently to regain the strength to conduct it again.

Gary is preceded in death by his father, William Herbert Bagwell, mother Evelyn Norrell Bagwell, and Celste Bagwell Forrester. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; his daughter, Heather (Josh) Bagwell Westmoreland his two cherished grandchildren, Anna Kate and Henry Westmoreland, sister Connie (Colin) Bagwell Millwood and brother David (Lynn) Bagwell, a number of nieces and nephews.

A life of steady faith, family devotion, and service to others, Gary will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of life will be held at Flat Creek Baptist Church, 5504 Flat Creek Rd, Gainesville, GA 30504 on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions to be made to the Golden Corral at the Flat Creek Baptist Church.

Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Drive, Gainesville, Georgia 30504 is in charge of the arrangements.

     Patricia Ann Millwood married William Gary Bagwell, son of William Herbert Bagwell and Evelyn Norrell, in 1971.

     Heather Bagwell is the daughter of William Gary Bagwell and Patricia Ann Millwood. Heather Bagwell married Joshua Ray Westmoreland after 1990.

     Joshua Ray Westmoreland married Heather Bagwell, daughter of William Gary Bagwell and Patricia Ann Millwood, after 1990.

     Herbert David Bagwell is the son of William Herbert Bagwell and Evelyn Norrell. Herbert David Bagwell married Regina Lynn Little on 5 August 1978 at Popular Springs Baptist Church, Gainesville, Georgia.

     Connie Bagwell is the daughter of William Herbert Bagwell and Evelyn Norrell. Connie Bagwell married Colin Millwood after 1970.

     Louisa C. Bond was born in July 1859 in Mississippi. As of 8 March 1885,her married name was Bagwell. She married David Edward Bagwell, son of John James Bagwell and Ophelia Didama, on 8 March 1885 at Anderson County, Texas. Louisa C. Bond and David Edward Bagwell lived in 1900 in Hill County, Texas.

     Martha Bagwell was born circa 1855 in South Carolina. She was the daughter of John James Bagwell and Ophelia Didama. Martha Bagwell married James Bennington (?) in 1870 at Polk County, Texas.
