     Mary Bagwell was born in 1814.¹ She was the daughter of Jesse Bagwell and Mary "Polly" Raybourn.¹ Her married name was Rice.¹ Mary Bagwell married Clement Rice.¹

     Clement Rice was born in 1816 in South Carolina.¹ He married Mary Bagwell, daughter of Jesse Bagwell and Mary "Polly" Raybourn.¹

     Martin Rice Rice was born before 1850.¹ He was the son of Clement Rice and Mary Bagwell.¹

     Elizabeth Bagwell was born in 1827 in South Carolina.¹ She was the daughter of Jesse Bagwell and Mary "Polly" Raybourn.¹ Elizabeth Bagwell married Joseph B. Barnett in 1847 at Laurens County, South Carolina.¹ As of before 1860,her married name was Barnett.¹ Elizabeth Bagwell died in February 1870 in Sevier County, Arkansas.

     Joseph B. Barnett married Elizabeth Bagwell, daughter of Jesse Bagwell and Mary "Polly" Raybourn, in 1847 at Laurens County, South Carolina.¹

     Hiram Marion Holbert was born on 2 February 1857 in Pickens County, Georgia.¹ He married Alice Ava Bagwell, daughter of Josiah Patillo Bagwell and Mary Catherine Sperin, on 2 January 1890 at Bradley County, Tennessee.¹ Hiram Marion Holbert died on 26 March 1900 in Cherokee County, Georgia, at age 43.¹ He was buried at Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery, Nelson, Cherokee County, Georgia.¹

     Levi Lafayette Spence was born on 8 February 1857 in Georgia.¹ He married Alice Ava Bagwell, daughter of Josiah Patillo Bagwell and Mary Catherine Sperin, in 1907.¹ Levi Lafayette Spence died on 20 January 1933 in Cherokee County, Georgia, at age 75.¹ He was buried at Fairview Baptist Cemetery, Ballground, Cherokee County, Georgia.¹

     William Claude Starnes was born on 22 August 1893 in Georgia.¹ He married Mary Elizabeth "Lizze" Bagwell, daughter of Thomas Robert Bagwell and Annie Cornelia Marler, before 1920.¹ William Claude Starnes died in 1977 in Georgia.¹ He was buried at Crestlawn Cemetery, Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia.¹

     Nellie Mae Hayes was born on 26 June 1907 in Georgia.¹ As of before 1928,her married name was Bagwell.¹ She married Forrest Buren Bagwell, son of Thomas Robert Bagwell and Annie Cornelia Marler, before 1928.¹ Nellie Mae Hayes died on 30 August 1991 at age 84.¹ She was buried on 2 September 1991 at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Stockbridge, Henry County, Georgia.¹

     William Jerry Bagwell was born on 2 November 1942 in Georgia.¹ He was the son of Forrest Buren Bagwell and Nellie Mae Hayes.¹ William Jerry Bagwell died on 20 December 1997 in Lowndes County, Georgia, at age 55.¹ He was buried at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Stockbridge, Henry County, Georgia.¹

     Betty Elaine Bagwell was born on 4 October 1945.¹ She was the daughter of Forrest Buren Bagwell and Nellie Mae Hayes.¹ As of after 1960,her married name was Wells. Betty Elaine Bagwell married Johnny M. Wells after 1960. Betty Elaine Bagwell died on 27 October 2013 at age 68.¹ She was buried at Greenwood Cemetery, Barnesville, Lamar County, Georgia.¹

     Johnny M. Wells married Betty Elaine Bagwell, daughter of Forrest Buren Bagwell and Nellie Mae Hayes, after 1960.

     Elizabeth F. Holland was also known as Odie Holland.¹ She was born on 1 June 1914.¹ As of before 1936,her married name was Bagwell.¹ She married James Berry Bagwell, son of Thomas Robert Bagwell and Annie Cornelia Marler, before 1936.¹ Elizabeth F. Holland died on 19 August 1995 at age 81.¹ She was buried at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Stockbridge, Henry County, Georgia.¹

     James Berry Bagwell Jr. was born on 28 July 1936.¹ He was the son of James Berry Bagwell and Elizabeth F. Holland.¹ He served in the US Navy.¹ James Berry Bagwell Jr. married Peggy Ann Moye after 1950.² James Berry Bagwell Jr. died on 30 August 1980 at age 44.¹ He was buried at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Stockbridge, Henry County, Georgia.¹

     Peggy Ann Moye was born on 22 August 1935.¹ As of after 1950,her married name was Bagwell.¹ She married James Berry Bagwell Jr., son of James Berry Bagwell and Elizabeth F. Holland, after 1950.¹ Peggy Ann Moye died on 24 March 1997 at age 61.¹ She was buried at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Stockbridge, Henry County, Georgia.¹

     Lester Franklin Steward was born on 5 March 1903 in Jackson County, Georgia.¹ He married Martha Inez Bagwell, daughter of Thomas Robert Bagwell and Annie Cornelia Marler, before 1926.¹ Lester Franklin Steward died on 12 September 1986 in DeKalb County, Georgia, at age 83.¹ He was buried at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Stockbridge, Henry County, Georgia.¹

     Franklin M. Bagwell was born on 17 May 1887.¹ He was the son of James Madison Bagwell and Elizabeth M. 'Lizzie' Thompson.¹ Franklin M. Bagwell died on 5 September 1888 in DeKalb County, Georgia, at age 1.¹ He was buried at Bagwell Family Cemtery, Tucker, DeKalb County, Georgia.¹

     William O. Talton was born on 9 July 1868.¹ He married Hetta L. Bagwell, daughter of James Madison Bagwell and Amanda Parisade E Brewer, on 24 December 1893 at DeKalb County, Georgia.¹ William O. Talton died on 2 February 1909 at age 40.¹ He was buried at Rehoboth Cemetery, Tucker, DeKalb County, Georgia.¹

     Amanda Jane Talton was born in 1873.¹ As of 1891,her married name was Bagwell.¹ She married James Albert Bagwell, son of James Madison Bagwell and Amanda Parisade E Brewer, in 1891.¹ Amanda Jane Talton died in 1935.¹ She was buried at Rehoboth Cemetery, Tucker, DeKalb County, Georgia.¹

     Ethel Mae Bagwell was also known as Ethel May Bagwell. She was born on 7 March 1896.¹ She was the daughter of James Albert Bagwell and Amanda Jane Talton.¹ As of before 1919,her married name was Bearden.² Ethel Mae Bagwell married Claude Bearden before 1919.² Ethel Mae Bagwell died on 8 March 1980 in DeKalb County, Georgia, at age 84.¹ She was buried at Rehoboth Cemetery, Tucker, DeKalb County, Georgia.¹

     Claude Bearden was born on 9 May 1890.¹ He married Ethel Mae Bagwell, daughter of James Albert Bagwell and Amanda Jane Talton, before 1919.¹ Claude Bearden died on 2 March 1964 in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia, at age 73.¹ He was buried at Rehoboth Cemetery, Tucker, DeKalb County, Georgia.¹

     Henry Riley Bagwell was born on 5 May 1890 in Tucker, DeKalb County, Georgia.¹ He was the son of James Madison Bagwell and Elizabeth M. 'Lizzie' Thompson.¹ He enlisted in the US Army (Serial Number 207828) as a Corporal in the 3rd Compnay Ordnance Repair ( United States Army Ordnance Corps, formerly the United States Army Ordnance Department). Henry Riley Bagwell married Donna Hale on 28 June 1919 at Morgan County, Alabama.² Henry Riley Bagwell died on 27 April 1962 in Cobb County, Georgia, at age 71


Henry Riley Bagwell (1890-1962)... he married Donna Hale (1882-1958) from Alabama via Mississippi in 1919. After the War, Marietta was booming with new and growing businesses aside from farming and agriculture. Henry's appreciated talents allowed him to build a new home and a barn to accommodate his growing business for the prosperous town in the mid to late 20's. The house and barn for the business surprisingly are still here today and beautifully refurbished by Julie Rome and her husband...and to my surprise... they are only 3 doors down from where my grandmother's old house was on Maxwell, Ave., Marietta, GA. I played in this dusty old barn as a kid with Rohners, Wilson's, Wings and siblings.

The prosperous business became "Bagwell Sign Service" of Marietta, GA and the primary signs produced were for store front signs, store front lettering, truck lettering and stand alone road side or yard signs from about 1919 until 1960.

The photos came from grandson Mr. William Bagwell of Pickens County, GA and they are numerous photos from the 20's thru the 50's... I have scanned them all and will be posting over the duration. They consist of several commercial trucks, store fronts and road advertisements over the years. truly a rare treat. Enjoy and thanks William Bagwell.¹

'Lizzie' Thompson, on 28 June 1919 at Morgan County, Alabama.¹ Donna Hale died in 1958 in Cobb County, Georgia.¹ She was buried at New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery, Marietta, Cobb County, Georgia.¹

     D.P. Henderson was born on 7 February 1869.¹ He married Lura Bagwell, daughter of James Madison Bagwell and Amanda Parisade E Brewer, before 1896.¹ D.P. Henderson died on 11 June 1896 at age 27.¹ He was buried at Rehoboth Cemetery, Tucker, DeKalb County, Georgia.¹

     Wash H. Cash was born on 20 March 1869.¹ He married Lura Bagwell, daughter of James Madison Bagwell and Amanda Parisade E Brewer, after 1897.¹ Wash H. Cash died on 26 March 1954 at age 85.¹ He was buried at Rehoboth Cemetery, Tucker, DeKalb County, Georgia.¹

     William A. Summerlin was born on 26 January 1874.¹ He married Caldona E. Bagwell, daughter of James Madison Bagwell and Amanda Parisade E Brewer, after 1890.¹ William A. Summerlin died on 23 July 1919 at age 45.¹ He was buried at Sweetwater Baptist Church and Cemetery, Duluth, Gwinnett County, Georgia.¹

     Willie Mae Allen was born on 21 February 1933 in Abbeville County, South Carolina. As of 18 December 1948,her married name was Bagwell.¹ She married Paul William "Jack" Bagwell Jr., son of Paul William Bagwell Sr. and Sarah Anne Blum, on 18 December 1948 at Greenwood County, South Carolina.¹ Willie Mae Allen died on 10 May 2019 in Greenwood, Greenwood County, South Carolina, at age 86
Willie Mae Allen Bagwell, 86, resident of Sagewood Road, widow of Paul William “Jack” Bagwell, went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, May 10, 2019 at Self Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Abbeville County, February 21, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Dee and Daisey Mae Luther Allen. Mrs. Bagwell was a member of Hodges Church of God, the Ladies Sunday School Class and was an avid Flower and Vegetable Gardener.

She is survived by a daughter, Jean Parsons and husband Jimmy of Hodges; twin sons, Ronnie Bagwell and wife Tammy of Charleston and Donnie Bagwell and wife Connie of Greenwood; son-in-law, Bob Campbell of Hodges; ten grandchildren, Shelley Renshaw and husband Jason, Michael Parsons and wife Amy, Melanie Davis and husband Cal, Chrissy Phillips and husband Sam, Amanda Hall and husband Tanner, Beth Graham and husband Brandon, Brandon Bagwell and wife Eliza, Josh Bagwell, Christopher Bagwell and Taylor Freel and husband Ben ; nineteen great-grandchildren, Brianna King, McKenzie Graham, Kaitlyn Phillips, Savanna Graham, Lauren Phillips, Landen Parsons, Alyssa Graham, Sara Renshaw, Perrin Bagwell, Megan Renshaw, Annslee Hall, Sawyer Bagwell, Aiden Hall, Blair Bagwell, Aiden Bagwell, Carter Bagwell, Arabella Freel, Haddie Bagwell and Ana Freel;

Mrs. Bagwell was predeceased by a daughter, Ann Bagwell Campbell, two great-grandsons, Conner Parsons and Paul Bryson Bagwell; brothers and sisters, James Allen, Estelle Suddeth, Lois Madden and Ruby Bagwell.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Monday, May 13, 2019, from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Caldwell and Rev. Rick Hendricks officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Michael Parsons, Sam Phillips, Brandon Graham, Cal Davis, Brandon Bagwell, Christopher Bagwell, Landen Parsons and Butch Powers.

The family is at the home on Sagewood Road and will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 to 3:00 Monday afternoon.

     Patricia Ann Bagwell was born on 1 January 1950 in Greenwood County, South Carolina.^1,2 She was the daughter of Paul William "Jack" Bagwell Jr. and Willie Mae Allen.^1,3 As of 18 August 1972,her married name was Campbell. Patricia Ann Bagwell married Robert Edward Campbell on 18 August 1972 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Greenwood, Greenwood County, South Carolina.^4,3 Patricia Ann Bagwell died on 9 January 2019 in Greenwood, Greenwood County, South Carolina, at age 69
She was a graduate of Greenwood High School and Lander University with a degree in Sociology.²
She was buried at Oakbrook Memorial Park, Greenwood, Greenwood County, South Carolina.²

     Jean Bagwell is the daughter of Paul William "Jack" Bagwell Jr. and Willie Mae Allen.^1,2 Jean Bagwell married Jimmy Parsons after 1965.²

     Ronald William Bagwell is the son of Paul William "Jack" Bagwell Jr. and Willie Mae Allen.^1,2,3 Ronald William Bagwell married Tammy (?) after 1965.²
